Obamacare: a legacy unraveling

While the majority of the population slept our misdirected government engineered major changes to their legacy legislative effort, Obamacare. Most startling of the alterations, many will be able to keep their traditional plans intact deep into 2017. Thirty other changes, through Executive edicts, have been implemented to make this egregious law more palatable to voters in 2014 and subsequently for the presidential election in 2016. Driven by political considerations candidates running for Democrat seats in the House and Senate are running away from this catastrophe in evolution. Many ardent supporters of Obama are having second thoughts concerning his agenda, as the President tweaks the legal nightmare he has inflicted on the nation. Dozens of mandates have been modified, extended and or simply circumvented to keep the Affordable Care Act afloat. Insufficient numbers of paying subscribers have signed up in the Exchanges. Reportedly four million have enrolled. Those in the know question the mix of this group. White House officials are mum whether these new Exchange patrons have been moved off Medical Assistance to this newest of subsidized programs. This leaves a small window of possibility that a few paying customers joined. Many are asking the question whether the Affordable Care Act is on life support. Omens of failure are omnipresent. Insurance premium nightmares are being reported throughout the country, rising by as much as 100%. Those who have not lost their jobs are seeing their hours cut by 25% or more. Clever means have been purported to deny patrons of this disaster the very elements advertised by the President and his minions. Obamacare was never about improving health care in America. Instead it was designed to usurp one-sixth of the economy and create a unitary payer system with the central core controlled by the Washington D.C. bureaucracy. Confusion has been introduced into the health system, at every level, which completely defeats its endgame, better medical care for all. Affordable care Act has been found to be not so affordable. From the perches of many Obamacare is unraveling and could sink under its own weight. In subsequent articles the dangers of Obamacare will be discussed.

Democrats on the run

Maryland is an excellent laboratory to visualize the methodologies of the progressives. Race to become governor has started and is especially ugly within the group of Democrats vying for this lofty position. Accusations of incompetence, inept management skills and racism have been thrown into the mix as the contest moves forward. Douglas Gansler, Maryland’s present Attorney General, has many sins to attest for during his tenure in office. Listening to him castigate other candidates is quite ironic. A close look at his record displays a man who is not ready for prime time. In the small event that he is elevated to the governorship, Maryland will have more of the poor leadership we have seen with O’Malley. Gansler will continue the anti-business climate of his soon to be predecessor. Taxes will move in only one direction from an astronomical standpoint. Worst of all more regulations will be piled on Marylanders to contain them personally and professionally. Gansler’s campaign appears to be in trouble. Perhaps he will pull out now and save himself the embarrassment of an overwhelming defeat.

Anthony Brown, the present Lieutenant Governor, had a heads up from this intrepid journalist until he pitched the race card. In Brown’s estimation minority businesses do not receive sufficient contracts and financial aid from Maryland’s government. Yearly, the state awards billions in contracts for required services to this very group. Afro Americans represent 30% of the Maryland’s population. Yet they receive a disproportionately higher amount of funds than other groups with greater representation. Anthony Brown’s proposals not only have a taint of racism smeared across them, they are not fair and equitable to the rest of the business community. Stated another way Brown is trying to buy votes using taxpayer dollars.

Democrats have no compunction when it comes to garnering votes. Every conceivable method to win an election will be employed. America viewed the President’s team of campaigners utilize deceptive means to pander to his base of followers and lackeys. Brown is using the same formula to rally his supporters. Maryland’s gubernatorial election, this November, will be an imprint of former state elections. Lies and deceit will drive campaigns, leaving voters with a conundrum. Do you want more of the same leadership, which has oppressed the majority of state residents, or a person with new ideas for smaller government and less regulation? The choices are obvious, choose wisely.

Twilight of a failing presidency

Irony has a way of working itself into the fabric of history. Electing Barack Obama in 2008 was celebrated as a transitional point for American culture. Hope and change were touted as new themes by a presidential candidate who came out of nowhere. A nation torn apart by two wars and a recession was ready for new blood in the White House. Promised hope faded away as the years went by and the changes expected degraded every institution and industry in the country. Once a proud country, America fell to bad decisions, opaque bureaucratic entanglements and a level of arrogance never before seen in the Executive Branch. President Obama’s State of the Union Speech (see State of the Disunion Speech: more of the same) was indicative of the outright misrepresentations and distortions spewing out of his Administration. Challenging the truth with every word he speaks President Obama’s legacy will be one of unfulfilled promises and overreach which has constrained the most productive amongst us. Keystone pipeline advocates, from both parties, viewed the convoluted and irrational Obama bureaucracy at work, which stifled this important project. Energy independence has been a cornerstone policy of President, yet five years have gone by and our dependence has only increased. Keystone would have provided a major conduit to transport oil from our northern neighbor. EPA has stalled this project for years and continues to do so. Who benefits from this delay? Obama’s energy policy became crystal clear when he bowed to the Saudi King.

Close inspection of Obama’s agenda does not bode well for an America whose underpinnings have been weakened in the last five years. Immigration reform has been a hot button topic from the beginning of the President’s Administration. Conflict within Congress has set the stage for the President to go it alone on this issue with Executive Edicts, which challenge his prescribed powers. Obama’s mindset for reform would bring in millions of people overwhelming an already bloated entitlement system and displacing countless Americans. The myth that Americans do not want these jobs is another fabrication.

Foreign policy has been nothing less than a disaster. Negotiating with Iran to end its drive for a nuclear weapon displays the gullibility of this Administration. Announcing to our enemies the withdrawal schedules of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan was nothing less than crazy. Worst of all apologizing for America’s prior actions on the World Stage was a direct insult to all those who died to keep the nation safe from our enemies overseas. Ironic as it may seem this country’s darkest enemy may not be beyond our borders. Our worst enemy may be a Chief Executive who never found his way home. State of Disunion Speech: more of the same

President Obama’s speech before Congress and the American Public on January 28^th contained the same rhetorical nonsense he has repeated year after year. His push to maintain the entitlement economy was especially egregious. Introduced as the President of the United States, the tepid audience response set the tone for the night. President Obama wasted no time spinning his ideas to take America further from the prosperity it deserves. Each section of his speech concentrated on enhancing employees’ opportunities and financial status over those who create jobs. Pushing for a federal minimum wage of 10.10 per hour his uninitiated mind could not conceive the impact this would have on the business community. On education he called for more opportunities for students. These are code words to enhance the wallets of teachers. School districts already spend too much on education with results that are close to appalling. Especially noteworthy were the President’s comments on Obamacare. His emphasis that three million people had signed up for Obamacare was a reflection of the sophistry he utilized throughout his long winded diatribe. Many people were shifted from state and federally subsidized programs to the Exchanges where more subsidies were awaiting them. His statement that many were youthful who took up the reins of Obamacare was another fabrication. Calling for ideas from the Republican side of the aisle to improve his legacy program continued his stream of misrepresentations. Republicans have offered hundreds of ways to amend Obamacare, he has yet to act on any of them. Looking straight into the camera his vocalizations of America’s job picture were especially disturbing. Job programs were one part of his broader initiative to reduce the huge number of jobless Americans. Thousands of job programs are already on the books, unfortunately there are no jobs available to take these people in. More money to help businesses was a secondary element of his plan. The President claimed many companies have availed themselves of federal funds to enable their businesses. Try to obtain a business loan, banks will send you away knowing the reason for your visit. Who has received these loans is anyone’s guess. Countless misrepresentation, fabrications and outright fibbing marked the President’s State of the Disunion Speech. Ironic as it sounds President Obama believes his prior initiatives have helped America move forward. The reality is he has set us back five years. Surviving America’s Deception

Dan Pfeiffer, a spokesperson for President Obama, was recently interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News. This advisor to a sitting president stumbled over his answers as he tried to evade a series of direct questions. His answer concerning the massive number of jobs losses under the Obama Administration was especially interesting. Dan claimed 8 million new jobs were created since Obamacare was initiated. Chris quickly retorted that Obamacare’s machinery just came online in October of 2013. The President’s man appeared dumb founded. As Chris moved on he wondered why so many employees are being laid off because of the new health law. The President’s advisor reiterated the Obama script by noting his Administration inherited the worse financial crisis since the great depression. Then he went on to state people were also being laid off in large numbers on the previous president’s clock. This fall back stratagem is getting somewhat rusty and Chris Wallace appeared to be annoyed. Deception is Obama’s greatest survival technique. Dozens of the President’s men and women amazingly lie to reporters, elected government officials and the public at large daily concerning all facets of his Administration’s functions. Stonewalling, another technique Obama uses to evade the truth, has been raised to the level of an art form during his tenure. With a dozen scandals brewing and more to come, information flow from all segments of the Executive Branch have diminished to a trickle. Freedom of Information Requests, lawful orders from the Congress and subpoenas mean little to a President who believes the Constitution is a doormat not a roadmap for Democracy. Exceeding his authority with ridiculous Executive Orders has become the norm for President Obama. The Administration has misconstrued the meaning of Executive Order. They are not to circumvent Congress, as Obama continually tries to do. The legal machinery of this Order allows the Executive Branch to carry out its functions more smoothly, nothing more. President Obama believes he can usurp the legislative process with a pen and a phone. Arrogant in tone and wrong in approach, the President is only enhancing a return to a Republican controlled Senate. My recommendation to Republican members of Congress: sit tight, the President’s political downfall is coming very soon. Maryland’s media: can it be trusted

Last night I was driving home from a neighboring state when I tuned in to a very popular local radio program. The usual buzz words were being tossed around by its host and several guests in the studio. Exchanges eventually were a target of conversation as the program proceeded. Listening closely the host revealed there were nine million people who have signed up for insurance through the Exchanges. Quizzically I looked at my other half who was just as dumb founded as myself. News outlets have reported three million have signed up through mid-January. Did six million more appear out of nowhere to sign-up in the last nine days, not likely. Two other guests did not correct the host who moved on quickly to discuss the Maryland’s Governor’s race. Misinformation is common from many of Maryland’s media outlets. Baltimore Sun readers receive a dose of distortion every time they read an edition of this once balanced news concern. Journalism in Maryland has given way to agenderism when writers manipulate facts to achieve their ends. Media has been condemning Anthony Brown, potentially our next Governor, for not managing the implementation of the Maryland Exchange appropriately. Reality speaks other tones when examining this specific issue more closely. Lieutenant Governor Brown has already discussed this issue openly and has atoned for it more than necessary. Yet those in the local media would attempt to bury the best candidate so far in the race for this office. Marylanders must be discerning when listening and or reading reports from their media. Empirical sampling from multiple media sources displays they deal in fuzzy truth dynamics. Second Rate America

America has become a dysfunctional nation. Evidence for this thesis is omnipresent. From the space program to our school systems this nation is no longer competitive on the World Stage. Falling from its high perch wasn’t easy. Government entities worked especially hard to downgrade every institution and industry in the country. With a hundred billion dollar space station orbiting the Earth, United States astronauts must hitch a ride with the Russians. Poor planning and reduced appropriations to NASA led to this tragic downgrade. Worse, many of their best scientists may not have jobs for long. Compared to foreign students their American counterparts score multiple levels below them on math and science tests. Diluted curriculums and lack of emphasis on the importance of education have contributed to this downward slide in academics. Traditional morality established by religion and strong family values, has given way to a multi-dimensional culture which has forgotten its foundations. A nation, in order to be a concrete entity, must have the elemental basis to keep itself strong. One of our finest radio show hosts’ Michael Savage noted: “borders, language and culture” are the keys to defining who we are and where we have been. There are those in our government who desire to subvert our culture with ridiculous laws to satisfy a small group of deviants. Our military, one of the finest in the World, has become a social experiment that dishonors the very essence of its reason for existence. Survival of the American experiment depends on a strong military. The Executive Branch’s intrusive incursion into the fundamental fabric of our armed forces has degraded our capacity to defend the nation when called upon to do so. Fundamental changes are needed in the central government to revitalize a country that has been torn from within. Time has come to put America first again and place people in power who think likewise. Americans’ acumen of choosing its political representation has faltered over the last decade. 2014 could reenergize the American dream. Let’s hope sense and sensibility returns to the electorate. Martin O’Malley’s final assault on Maryland businesses

Maryland’s Governor O’Malley has proposed to raise the minimum wage from 7.25 to 10.10 an hour, in three phases, over the next two years. His proposal also consists of automatic increases to keep pace with inflation. Martin O’Malley’s intention to extort funds from private businesses is not new. From the day he became the state’s Chief Executive Officer his desire was clearly to destroy the business community. Under his tutelage dozens of taxes, fees and outright levies have increased with the burden ending up on the heads of those who generate the majority of state funds, our businesses. His latest gambit to increase the minimum wage is fraught with landmines that he and his minions may not have considered. As the so-called minimum wage increases matching Medicare and Social Security taxes increase, as well as unemployment taxes and workers compensation reimbursements. Worse, O’Malley’s proposal robs more funds from business budgets by automatically forcing them to raise wages based on the quasi formula which establishes inflationary trends. The Governor’s irrational train of thought never takes into account the stresses businesses have to stay afloat. His excuse that 21 other states have higher minimums is a ruse to create the illusion the raise is justifiable. Of these 21 most are a few percentage points elevated over Maryland’s present 7.25 hourly rate. Twenty-nine other states’ rates are at or below Maryland’s. During one of the Governor’s diatribes he noted the unfairness of the minimum wage structure which impedes a worker from supporting his/her family. Entry level jobs, paying minimum wage, were never designed to support a family. Maneuvering state legislatures to manage their entitlements by drawing funds from the private sector is a ploy by the left to keep the gravy flowing to their constituents. In a recent gathering of elected officials concerning the minimum wage Douglas Gansler, Maryland’s retiring Attorney General, displayed his usual enthusiasm to stick it to the business community. Unfortunately, the next Governor Anthony Brown is also onboard with O’Malley’s intended folly. Governor O’Malley’s agenda closely parallels that of our President, neither one cares about the ramifications their insults bring to society only the votes they garner in an election. Raising the minimum wage brings the danger of pushing more businesses to the edge, resulting in less jobs available to entry level workers. Worse, the change in wage structure will accelerate the exodus of businesses leaving the state. In the waning days of Governor O’Malley’s reign he intends to do as much destruction to the Maryland economy as possible. Perhaps there are a few decent legislators left in Annapolis who have the sense and sensibility to impede O’Malley’s last financial fiasco. If not the jobless rate will grow exponentially adding further burden to an entitlement structure already seeing red.

Into the Darkness: America loses faith

God, once a common theme in American culture, has been relegated to a secondary role in a deteriorating nation. Religion is under assault from many who believe our country should be a land of atheists not deists. Government, at every level, is giving in to groups who want religious icons removed from public view. From Christmas decorations on public lands to the Ten Commandments in courthouses legal challenges have been successful in their removal. Atheists are posting statements on billboards across the country questioning the beliefs of the majority who continue to have faith in an almighty deity. President Obama has spearheaded the assault on religion denying people their First Amendment rights to practice religion in the manner in which they chose. Birth control is being forced on the Catholic Church though the Administration states otherwise. An order of nuns must now provide birth control to their employees or face the wrath of the all-powerful IRS. Military chaplains have received word they would be punished if they did not follow the atheistic agenda of the Obama Administration. Worse, soldiers are being forced to congregate and be sensitive to the needs of their homosexual counterparts. Indoctrination courses to sensitize soldiers on gay and lesbian issues have been introduced into course work a soldier must take to remain in the military even when it is against their religious beliefs. America’s legal landscape is fraught with lawsuits impeding prayer sessions in schools, at sporting events and wherever the word of God can be heard in public. Is God under house arrest in America? It seems so. Five years appears like an eternity, yet the war on religion was initiated the day President Obama took office. Quiet application of Administration mandate, circumventing certain religious beliefs, has filtered through government circles. President Obama can deny his anti-religion agenda exists, yet the devil is in the details. America is moving through dark times presently with no light seen at the end of the proverbial tunnel. One thing for certain God has not turned away from America, the nation has turned away from him. Cultural denigration in America

American culture has been under radical assault for the last five years. Certain ideologies and beliefs, once the norm, became an anathema to those who hated America’s fundamental values and what they stood for. In order to move away from this embedded thinking the power centers had to first recondition how the collective population interprets present social and political trends. This task was performed by metamorphosing language structure. Words and phrases in current use during the initiation of this transformation were either deemphasized or over accentuated as the need arose. Many of us still remember the word “terrorist” being removed from Obama’s lexicon of accepted government words. Jihad was given a similar treatment. When a “terrorist” attacked an American facility on the mainland or abroad Obama’s minions came up with the words “manmade event” or phraseology of a similar nature. Groups of inner city children, en masse, who perform criminal acts against commercial centers, the words “flash mob” entered into common use to deemphasize the nature of the action. Traditional marriage is no longer considered traditional under the eyes of those who wanted to curry favor with a micro-segment of the population. The term “gay marriage” was crusaded throughout the corridors of state legislatures to allow deviancy to be brought into the mainstream. The words transgender, transsexual or other bizarre mix became a rallying cry in my adopted state of Maryland. Legislators jumped into action to correct this bump in the road. Presently a man can throw on a dress, in this very blue state, if he wants to use the lady’s bath or dressing rooms at your local Walmart. In recent days the concept of illegal was given the liberal treatment. California’s highest court will now permit illegal immigrants to practice law provided they meet the same criteria as their legal counterparts. This decision redefines the legality of illegality. In a short time this concept will be the law of the land. Shifting word and phrase structure has long been a tool of tyrants to amass and retain power. Welcome to the America of 2014. Mass manipulation of the populace is moving along as planned. Do not be surprised when the name of our beloved country is stricken from historical and other references to finish Obama’s transfiguration of American society. It is the next-step in his agenda. Anthony Brown: Maryland’s next governor

Anthony Brown is a man of multiple accomplishments. As Lieutenant Governor for the last seven years and a Delegate to the Maryland House for eight years preceding his rise to the Executive Branch he has become extremely familiar with the mechanisms of state government. Lieutenant Governor Brown concurrently continues to serve in the United States Army Reserves with the rank of Colonel for which he has been a member for three decades. As a Harvard trained lawyer he distinguished himself there and during his tenure in the private sector. Support for him to rise to the ultimate job in state government has been increasing at an exponential rate. Endorsements have been flooding in from a diverse number of groups and individuals who see him as a man with ability and promise. Recently he was unfairly attacked by his opponent Douglas Gansler, Maryland’s Attorney General, who is also running for governor. Gansler complains that Maryland’s health exchange implementation was mismanaged under the tutelage of Brown. This erroneous assault on the Lieutenant Governor is a desperate maneuver by Gansler to curry favor with the public. Multiple factors come into play when establishing the sophisticated software and hardware to make the health exchanges a reality. Brown depends on numerous Information Technology personnel to provide accurate and truthful data to him, they didn’t. Lieutenant Governor Brown is on record stating he could have done a better job. His honesty is refreshing, as is his extensive resume. Lieutenant Governor Brown should be judged in his own right exclusive of the man he works with, Martin O’Malley. Brown’s personal and professional accomplishments far exceed the man he works for. Maryland’s Attorney General has abused his office in numerous ways and those affected have had their careers ruined. Douglas Glansler has used Maryland Courts in a deceitful manner to move up the food chain, he should not be given the key to the Executive Suite. America transitions from Democracy to hypocrisy

Extolling the virtues of failure as he moves through his day, President Obama’s success can be measured in the number of lies he spews hourly. Democracy is no longer an essential theme for an Administration that has undermined every institution, industry and tradition in the country. Instead their sole purpose for being is to control every aspect of its citizenry’s existence. To bring this goal to fruition the Obama Administration has set out on a path of deceit so profound that it startles even their most staunch supporters. Worse, when the lies are revealed the massive cover up begins. Choose your topic: the massacre in Benghazi, Obamacare, Fast and Furious, the IRS assault on conservatives, fraudulent use of taxpayer funds are just a few of the insidious actions taken by an out of control Executive branch. America no longer functions by law, fiat has become the vehicle of control to implement the President’s agenda. Every wrongful action committed by the President has been submerged using chicanery to inhibit full disclosure of its intent and outcome. Most recently President Obama has utilized a variety means to deceive the public about key elements of Obamacare. America has only tasted the bitter fruit of phase one, the insurance exchanges. With their failures reported in all fifty states the Administration has maintained one script which obviates the truth. Obamacare’s basic algorithms are flawed, which is no surprise to the public who has to deal with them. Failure has been the core theme threaded throughout President Obama’s virtual usurpation of American culture, rhythms and infrastructure. He has misled tens of millions that the road to their futures depends on the work of others, not their own. With well-rehearsed demagoguery Obama appeals to his audiences’ weaknesses with the intention of retaining his power base. Hypocrisy is the new Democracy, left unchallenged, will become the template for future Administrations. For now a lame Congress and a left leaning Supreme Court have done little to impede America’s departure from Democracy. Perhaps the Administration should take a lesson from the Old Testament: thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Yet, I believe they are too busy planning their next cover up.

Based on a series of fraudulent algorithms and guided by the legal elites in Washington the steps to failure are written into every page of this egregious Ponzi scheme. Three years was not enough time to establish the portals to access PPACA’s promises, then thirty years will not be sufficient to build the supporting structures and bureaucracy to manage its medical services. Complexity of America’s health care system is best represented by the number of facilities and people who support their function. With nearly six thousand hospitals, thousands of clinics and tens of thousands of physician offices to oversee the numbers only get worse when factoring in the people delivering services through these sites. Nine hundred thousand physicians, three million nurses, millions of auxillary personnel and an array of other health professionals combine to create an untenable situation for any government agency to manage. Yet this is the task Obamacare has set-out for itself. To control costs one must pare down services, no doubt this was a primary consideration when this mess was originally envisioned. Under the traditional system MRIs and CT scans are available in hours to days, not anymore. Reflecting on the Canadian system, weeks to months will become the norm. Routine surgeries are not routine anymore. A vast array of bureaucrats will allow the privileged few into the operating suites. Bogus medical studies have already emerged, from quasi government panels, to dissuade physicians from performing certain lab tests, surgeries and procedures. Many have already been published, more are on the way. Mammograms were one of the first tests government officials attacked for overuse. PSA testing, to determine prostate cancer, has been challenged by physicians outside this specialty working in Obama’s corner. The parade of changes coming to traditional medicine will be alarming to the end-user, the patient, as Obamacare is fully implemented. Irony has a way of uncovering deception. Those who pushed this legislation through will be hammered by the same rules which will limit medical care for others. Presidential Medal of Freedom has lost its meaning

A race hustler and an impeached perjurer have garnered more medals for their reckless behaviors. Oprah believes that anyone who does not like President Obama or his left-wing legislative agenda is a racist. In a recent interview, to a British journalist, she stated for racism to desist a generation of people, meaning whites, must pass into eternity. Her small-minded thoughts shout racial hatreds. Oprah is a race hustler emeritus in an industry full of aging racists. Today the Commander-in-Chief bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Oprah for carrying the racist torch to heights even Martin Luther King could not imagine. Another figure, whose name will go down in history for shafting as many women as he could while practicing politics, accepted the same medal. William Jefferson Clinton, commonly called Bill Clinton has a very colorful history. Bill may come close to Obama’s record of lying while in office. His impeachment came as no surprise to most of us, yet the left wing Senate did not have the guts to carry through his well-deserved displacement from office. Perjury, philandering and political incompetence should have kept Bill Clinton far from today’s award. By Oprah and Clinton receiving this once prestigious medal it is tarnished for those who previously received it. I wonder what MLK would have thought of Oprah’s continued use of the race card to keep herself in the news. Times may change, but those with hate in their hearts will always rise to the top on someone else’s back. Bullying: felonious actions, rite of passage or something else

Bullying has come a long way from the time individuals would handle such matters between themselves or through a second party. Children naturally intimidate each other as the socialization process moves forward. Whether it was in the sandbox or concerning the contents of a lunch box entanglements somehow always found you. With the advent of the new millennia the face of bullying took a radical change. Third parties created an industry that now employs tens of thousands to ameliorate a problem once left to a few to resolve. Defined as the process of intimidating or mistreating somebody weaker or is in a more vulnerable situation bullying has become the newest gold mine for lawyers. To make matters worse the criminal justice system is hungry to try cases that moms and dads could resolve with opposing parties in a matter of hours. Initiation into fraternities, sororities, sports teams and the like one could always expect a bit of hazing to humiliate the new member. Does this call for the prosecutorial machinery from local government sources to move on them? Absolutely not! Yet the legal system has injected its self-righteous hands where they do not belong. The argument exists bullying can lead to extreme harm or even death of an individual is true but rare. Several recent suicides attributed to bullying have made national headlines. Those left behind are children facing felonies for juvenile tactics common to their age-related antics. The question remaining unanswered: why was there no intervention earlier? In the last few weeks a form of hazing was revealed against a player for the Miami Dolphins Jonathan Martin, who happens to be six foot and five inches weighing 312 pounds. With such bulk and height one would think he was the bullier, yet he claims to be the victim. A person’s ego structure will interpret acts against them in different manners. Martin’s emotional distress may derive from many factors and he indeed may have a valid case against those who he accuses. Rites of passage in a person’s life indicate certain transitions and or milestones that are achieved to move on to the next stage of life. Many children do not move through the socialization process appropriately causing them to be either victims or victimizers in society, through no fault of their own. With the traditional family structure disintegrating, guidance into adulthood by responsible adults is diminishing rapidly. Bullying will not be solved by passage of laws, jailing children or destroying the future careers of sportsmen. Intervention must occur as early as possible by those closest to the situation. Awakening of American minds

For the last five years Americans have been asleep. As we slumbered Democracy was being supplanted by forces unfriendly to it. The very strength of our nation drained away as the blood of socialism was being transfused into our institutions, industries and classrooms. Many of us, who saw the changes coming, were ignored, became banter of late night talk shows or found our words squelched by left-wing media outlets. Five years later the laughs have stopped giving way to the concerns that America’s transition is detrimental to all political persuasions. United States is now managed by a group that believes it can pick and choose which laws it will follow. Justice is meted out by those with a skewed view of the Constitution. Laws have become weapons in their hands to move narrow agendas forward which benefit only a few. A formerly strong and conscientious nation appears foolish on the World stage. Barack Obama leads from behind. His hesitations, lack of transparency and indecisions have defined him as less of a leader and more of a follower, who takes his cues from the social deviants in which he keeps company. America’s re-fabrication has redefined the essence of this nation. Be the best you can be has been replaced with give as much as you can and as often as you can to those who do not want to contribute to the collective. Be dependent is the theme from the White House. Individuals who succeed on their own are an anathema to those who move up the food chain on the backs of others. Any attempt to change the dependency apparatus in the nation’s capital is met with an array of disarming statements such as: poor children will starve or the elderly will be put out in the streets. None of it true, yet it keeps the gravy flowing to a population that knows how to cajole politicians to keep the entitlement faucet open. The half of America which has awakened to its own plight realized omens of failure were apparent throughout the country. Massive student loan debt, trillions promised to public pension plans, an untenable mortgage market backed with dwindling government coffers and a million unfulfilled promises by politicians are the seeds which will sink this nation fiscally. Great leaders rise up from the murk every so often, our President in not one of them. In the event Congress performed the task of governing appropriately, Barack Obama would have heard the gavel of impeachment by now. Instead he continues to party and deride the country as though tomorrow may never come. Perhaps he knows something the rest of us don’t. Death by Obamacare

Media has been focusing on the fundamentally flawed economic aspects of Obamacare. Few pundits have weighed in on the medical care and access that comes with this monstrous legislation. Moving beyond the Exchanges the reality of Obamacare confronts you when trying to enter this new mode of health care delivery. Traditionally physicians worked alongside nursing personnel to investigate a patient’s symptoms and provide a viable treatment plan to effectuate a solution to the presenting problem. Obamacare seeks to undo this model by introducing secondary health providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, for first contact. Complicated presenting complaints would be evaluated by people who have less than one third the training of an M.D. or D.O. American medicine has already taken a hit when investigations revealed many foreign MDs have markedly less education and practical patient experience than their American counterparts prior to licensing. Doctor Ezekial Emanual, one of the architects of Obamacare recently stated in an interview with Andy Dean: for Obamacare to be a viable entity, secondary personnel on the frontlines, is necessary if this model of health delivery is to work. In his opinion physicians are no longer needed to be present on first contact. This Harvard theorist is essentially requiring Americans to be lab animals in the Obamacare maze. Dr. Emanual’s attempt to re-fabricate American medicine has no support in studies or actual experience, only an untried theorem. Medical care will see a decline in the quality and quantity of services as the new system is implemented. Physicians will be forced to follow treatment plans that are cooked up by government bureaucrats, many of whom are not health providers. These treatment plans will become the new standards of care. A physician who deviates from them could lose his/her license, be hanged in effigy and even find themselves in a cold jail cell, for which there is significant precedent.

Under this massive new health care scheme systems will be streamlined to maximize services. Accessibility to ambulance and emergency services will be reduced for two reasons: increased demand and fewer units available for treatment. An infant drowns because the emergency management personnel had too many calls to answer on their shift. Chest pain leading to an acute heart attack was not treated on time because an emergency room was overwhelmed with patients seeking care. Surgeries on Demand will be a fine memory as the system introduces a new element into acute care, it is call waiting time. The gamut of surgical services may be available after weeks and or months of bureaucratic entanglement. Cutting edge drugs give way to a pharmacopeia of generics, many of which have been surpassed by newer medications. These drugs will not be available to you. Need an immediate CAT scan or MRI, with fewer units in existence, months may go by before your number is called. Obamacare guarantees three elements that will confound your utilization of its programs: higher costs, less access and poor service. Death panels are not written into the matrix of care. Instead, available medical services are slowed to a crawl, allowing those with curable and or manageable diseases to succumb at much higher rates than in the past. Douglas Gansler: a fading Maryland politician

Douglas Gansler, Maryland’s Attorney General and gubernatorial hopeful initiated his campaign for higher office by introducing racism into the mix. Anthony Brown, the present lieutenant governor, was slighted by Gansler who was noted as saying Brown has few accomplishments and is relying on his race to win the 2014 primary. Gansler, who purportedly was a defender of Civil Rights during his tenure in office, appears to be opposed to them when a politician running against him is of another race. To make matters worse Gansler’s running mate Jolene Ivey staked out a claim of her own in this racism dialogue. The first few words from her when chosen to run for lieutenant governor were: she is a Trayvon Martin mom. Race appears to be on the minds of both of these candidates for higher office. Gansler was the first Maryland Attorney General to establish a Director of Civil Rights position within his department. The question is whose Civil Rights were being monitored. His Voting Irregularities Task Force was setup to ferret out voter suppression throughout Maryland. One must suspend disbelief to believe any Maryland voters were stopped from casting their ballots. Obviously the present Attorney General was pandering to 30% of the state who are of the black culture. If there is any suppression of voters’ rights in Maryland Afro-Americans are the least affected. Gansler’s attempt to bring attention to himself can be observed in the many high profile legal cases he brings to the forefront. His stance on issues has the stench of far left politics. As a physician who has been through the milieu of professional and political assassination by Gansler and his minions, he appears not to care if a legal case has credence only that it is media worthy. Recently the Maryland State Education Association overwhelmingly supported Brown in his efforts to become Governor. Too many contradictions follow Douglas Gansler in his crusade to move up the food chain. Needless to state, his present temperament on race contradicts his prior profile and its scent has been picked up by many who are looking away from him and towards Anthony Brown. Gansler has stung many to justify his political position, now his own words are biting him back. Perhaps Douglas Gansler should reconsider his run for governor, it appears others have. October first 2013 will be remembered as the day Obamacare initiated a process to dismantle America’s health system. Earlier this year Americans were hammered with a dozen new taxes to bring this monster to fruition. With the implementation of insurance exchanges medical services moved into the dark shadows of government bureaucracy. Failure is the most appropriate way to describe the initial two weeks of this electronic venture to cull unsuspecting people to purchase high priced insurance programs. Reportedly, one must provide information in minute detail, from your prior health history to one’s criminal past. Obamacare allows the U.S. government to mine each individual for data far beyond the needs required to create a health profile. How this information will be utilized is the subject of thousands of comments strewn across social websites. Yet the media has only grazed this subject. Who needs a Fourth Amendment when we have an Administration that believes the Constitution stands in the away of governing. Obamacare economics were intended to diminish costs to patients, instead insurance fees moved exponentially higher. Most important, every service embedded in this health legislation, will be apportioned using twisted algorithms to effectuate this oncoming disaster. Instant access to medical services will be a fine memory as this nation moves into its new mode of health care delivery. A waiting game will emerge where weeks and months will go by when these services were once available in mere hours or days. With a tidal wave of new recipients flowing forth, the health system will need an array of new workers. Ezekial Emanuel MD, Ph.D, one of the architects of this mess, stated in a recent interview that secondary and tertiary health workers will be relied heavily upon to effectuate Obamacare. He believes doctors are no longer needed for minor infirmities such as colds and urinary tract infections. His PH.D is in political philosophy. This author is not sure which one. In essence Obamacare is a hodge-podge of regulatory structure cobbled together to mend a health system that needed a tune up not an overhaul. Its authors were mainly theorists and lawyers. Failure is written all over this tragedy. Unfortunately President Obama wants to see his tragedy evolve and the resulting number of people who will be hurt under its auspices. As Obamacare implodes, it will defund itself because the economic formula on which it is based is fundamentally flawed. Theory is never as good as practicality. Obamacare is impractical and will hurt a nation already hurting. This nightmare will be over when rational minds prevail in the heart of the nation.
