Exposing Attawapiskat By The Source Ezra Levant

Why are people in Attawapiskat so poor? Why are some kids living in leaky shacks? It’s because Chief Spence and her boyfriend are living high off the hog, unfortunately this has been ignored by the Media Party.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Does Not Agree Lee Harvey Oswald Acted Alone

Remarkable revelation, a murder that's been studied more than any other in history, conspiracy theorists saying his assassination by lee harvey oswald was part of a bigger plot and the stunning assertion that robert kennedy also believed it. This is the foundation of the warren commission's claim of a lone assassin. Reporter: The 1991 blockbuster film "jfk" highlighted and fueled the conspiracy theory surrounding one of the darkest days in american history.

Treasury, Fed oppose using platinum coin to avoid debt ceiling
Jan. 13 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Treasury Department and Federal Reserve oppose the idea of minting platinum coins as a way to avoid the U.S. debt ceiling, according to a statement from Treasury spokesman Anthony Coley.
“Neither the Treasury Department nor the Federal Reserve believes that the law can or should be used to facilitate the production of platinum coins for the purpose of avoiding an increase in the debt limit,” Coley said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.

NRA Rejects White House Gun Strategy...

"We don't think any of those things work," he said in appearance on CNN's "State of the Union." "You should absolutely be able to compromise on things that accomplish the purpose. NRA Views Conflict With White House ...

WASHINGTON -- Just two days before Vice President Joe Biden delivers a comprehensive set of recommendations on gun policy, National Rifle Association President David Keene rejected the reported outline of suggestions Sunday and dismissed any ban on assault weapons or high-capacity magazines as a non-starter.
"We don't think any of those things work," he said in appearance on CNN's "State of the Union." "You should absolutely be able to compromise on things that accomplish the purpose. Our objection to those things is that they interfere with people's rights without doing anything to solve the problem."
Biden on Tuesday is expected to issue a series of proposals to address gun violence, in response to last month's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Based on initial reports, the White House will make more comprehensive background checks a priority and continue to push for the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban.
But despite having an NRA representative present for a meeting with the vice president last week, Keene doesn't foresee his organization and the White House reaching an agreement on how to proceed.
On Sunday, he called for a greater focus on mental health and said those who are mentally ill and potentially dangerous should be placed on a list of people prohibited from purchasing firearms. He did not raise the NRA's initial suggestion to place armed guards in schools across the country, which was not only met with widespread criticism but has also proven to be ineffective in prior mass shootings.

San Diego police shot and critically wounded a gunman who was hiding in a movie theater.

Police stormed into a screening of "Les Miserables" at the Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain around 3:50 p.m. Saturday and confronted 20-year-old Tom Billodeaux of Escondido, Calif.

The suspect was initially cooperative and out his hands up, however police said he then dropped his hand and appeared to reach for the gun his lap. An officer fired, hitting Billodeaux in the arm and chest.

Over 50, and Under No Illusions

“Shame on you if you’re not thinking every single year, ‘What’s my next step?’ ” says Pamela Mitchell, a career coach and author. “It’s magical thinking not to do this.”

Too young to retire, too old to start over. Or at least that’s the line. Comfortable jobs with comfortable salaries are scarce, after all. Almost overnight, skills honed over a lifetime seem tired, passé. Twenty- and thirty-somethings will gladly do the work you used to do, and probably for less money. Yes, businesses are hiring again, but not nearly fast enough. Many people are so disheartened that they’ve simply stopped looking for work.
For millions of Americans over 50, this isn’t a bad dream — it’s grim reality. The recession and its aftermath have hit older workers especially hard. People 55 to 64 — an age range when many start to dream of kicking back — are having a particularly hard time finding new jobs. For a vast majority of this cohort, being thrown out of work means months of fruitless searching and soul-crushing rejection.

US Congress less popular than cockroaches: Poll

Source Of Screen Shot From O'Reilly Factor Video

WASHINGTON: The little loved US Congress, fresh off its fiscal cliff budget crisis, is now less popular than cockroaches and lice, a survey released Tuesday found.
The Public Policy Polling survey of 830 Americans from January 3-6 revealed that Congress had hit new lows in the eyes of the same US voters who sent representatives to work there.
The legislative body proved less popular than traffic jams, Donald Trump, France, lice, Genghis Khan, cockroaches and used car dealers, the poll found.
Just nine per cent of those surveyed had a favourable opinion of Congress.
“We all know Congress is unpopular,” said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling.
“But the fact that voters like it less than cockroaches… really shows how far its esteem has fallen with the American public over the last few weeks.” Source

Tom Cruise Believes Scientology Protects Humanity From Aliens

Tom Cruise will save the world from aliens — not on the big screen but in real life.
His day job as an actor pales next to the billion-year contract of service he signed with the Church of Scientology, according to a bombshell new book, “Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood & The Prison of Belief.” New Yorker writer Lawrence Wright details Cruise’s demigod status within the church, as well as the group’s ultimate purpose —
protect humanity from aliens living in our bodies, who are bent on destroying us and ultimately the planet.

Indian police personnel present six arrested men, accused of a gang rape in Punjab state, for an appearance at court in Gurdaspur on Januray 13, 2013.

When she got off the bus, the driver offered her a ride on his motorcycle, perhaps to her in-laws village, the police said. Instead, he took her to a nearby village where he and six other men, including the bus conductor, raped her repeatedly through the night

NEW DELHI — Police said Sunday that a  29-year-old woman had been raped by a bus driver, a bus conductor and five other men in the north Indian state of Punjab, in an incident that recalls the recent attack in Delhi that has caused widespread outrage.
The woman boarded a bus on Friday bound for Gurdaspur, to visit her in-laws, the police chief of Gurdaspur, Raj Jit Singh, said in a telephone interview. When she got off the bus, the driver offered her a ride on his motorcycle, perhaps to her in-laws village, the police said. Instead, he took her to a nearby village where he and six other men, including the bus conductor, raped her repeatedly through the night.
The next morning, the driver dropped her at her in-laws home, where the woman told her family members of the incident, and then reported it to the police, Mr. Singh said.
Six men, including the bus driver and conductor, have been arrested, he said. All of the men are their twenties.
Gurmesh Singh, the deputy superintendent of police for the  region, said it was unclear how or why the bus driver persuaded the woman to go with him on his motorcycle. She was in a state of distress during the bus ride, Mr. Singh said, and originally refused to get off of the bus when it reached its final destination.
The Press Trust of India reported that the bus driver did not stop at her stop when requested.
The gang-rape of a woman on a moving bus in New Delhi on Dec. 16, and her subsequent death from injuries sustained during the rape, has sparked widespread protests and calls for increased policing and tougher laws against sexual assault in India.
The case against five of the men arrested in that rape is being heard this month in a special fast-track court created just for incidents of sexual assault.

Hacker, programmer, writer and activist Aaron Swartz has died of suicide at age 26

You should also know that at the time of his death Aaron was being prosecuted by the federal government and threatened with up to 35 years in prison and $1 million in fines for the crime of — and I’m not exaggerating here — downloading too many free articles from the online database of scholarly work JSTOR. Aaron had allegedly used a simple computer script to use MIT’s network to massively download academic articles from the database that he himself had legitimate access to, almost 5 million in all, with the intent, prosecutors alleged, of making them freely available. You should know that despite JSTOR declining to press charges or pursue prosecution, federal prosecutors dropped a staggering 13 count felony indictment on Aaron for his alleged actions.

MSNBC

You should know that the hacker, programmer, writer and activist Aaron Swartz has died of suicide at age 26. His body was found in his apartment on Friday. Aaron was one of those preternaturally brilliant, precocious hackers who, at the age of 14, co-developed the Really Simple Syndication or RSS web protocol that is the key component of much of the web’s entire publishing infrastructure.
By 19, he’d co-founded a company that would merge with Reddit, a user-generated social news site that is now one of the most highly trafficked news sites in the world. He read voraciously, uploading reviews of the dozens of books he read a year to his blog, and wrote beautifully and prolifically. He worked as a progressive activist with the group Progressive Change Campaign Committee and founded Demand Progress, which was instrumental in fights to keep the internet open and free, and in the battle to defeat the Stop Online Piracy Act.
He developed the architecture for the Creative Commons licensing system and in 2010 he and I were both fellows at Harvard’s Safra Center for Ethics. Aaron and I would grab lunch and talk politics and ideas and he’d talk about the various books he was in the process of writing or planning on writing. He was a kind of 21st century, nerd renaissance man.
Aaron also suffered from depression. He wrote about his depression in 2007 in a post titled “Sick.”
Surely there have been times when you’ve been sad. Perhaps a loved one has abandoned you or a plan has gone horribly awry. Your face falls. Perhaps you cry. You feel worthless. You wonder whether it’s worth going on. Everything you think about seems bleak–the things you’ve done, the things you hope to do, the people around you. You want to lie in bed and keep the lights off. Depressed mood is like that, only it doesn’t come for any reason and it doesn’t go for any either. Go outside and get some fresh air or cuddle with a loved one and you don’t feel any better, only more upset at being unable to feel the joy that everyone else seems to feel. Everything gets colored by the sadness.
You should know if you are depressed, you are not alone, that there are literally millions of people out there suffering from depression and that help is available.
In a statement about his death Aaron’s family and partner wrote:
“Aaron’s death is not simply a personal tragedy. It is the product of a criminal justice system rife with intimidation and prosecutorial overreach. Decisions made by officials in the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office and at MIT contributed to his death.”
You should know his death is a good reason to revisit the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the law under which he was prosecuted, since it is far too broad, and to take a hard look at Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, whose office prosecuted Aaron with such recklessly disproportionate vigor, and who is reportedly considering a run for governor.
You should know that we’re going to miss you, Aaron. We’re going to miss your brilliant mind, your righteous heart and your sensitive soul.

TV Volume On Canadian Channels Cannot Be Jacked Up during commercials

“Starting on September 1 2012, Canadians will be able to enjoy their favorite television programs without having to adjust the volume during commercial breaks.” “We appreciate the efforts undertaken by the broadcasting industry to conform to the new standard and ensure that programs and commercials are transmitted at a similar volume.”
CBC reports that Canadians tuning in to US broadcasts might still face the problem but the CRTC says the US is expected to bring in the same rules by the end of the year.

Troops in Africa: Is this why we have a military?

In March, the United States plans to send elements of the Second Brigade, First Infantry Division, to Africa (under AFRICOM) to conduct over a hundred different missions in 34 nations, such as humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and training indigenous forces.  (source: Washington Times) The Second Brigade is a heavy brigade equipped with tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and self-propelled artillery, mind you, not a light infantry brigade or Special Forces unit.  As a result of the deployment, their training on these systems in a wartime scenario will most likely suffer.

We are also a bankrupt nation, yet spending millions deploying portions of our military to areas that are not critical to our national security.  Sounds to me like we may have found a portion of the national budget we can cut if our military has nothing better to do than hand out humanitarian assistance and wait for natural disasters in some far off land.

Our tax dollars need to instead be spent on our military defense, not on ambiguous blanket missions of doing everything except the defense of our nation.  We need to get ourselves out of this recession/depression first before we should even consider doing a mission like that of the 2nd Brigade in Africa.  The national debt is the biggest threat to our national security, not some non-existent disaster in Africa.

We must ask ourselves: Are the Armed Forces of the United States serving as the military force of the United Nations/World Government, or are they protecting America and its citizens?

As an organization, the US military is slowly being forced to reject its original foundation of the Christian faith and in its place accept humanism, as evidenced by the removal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy allowing for open homosexual behavior in the ranks.  Even the mere presence of religion in military organizations is under attack from organizations such as the Military Religious Freedom Foundation who espouse a perverted interpretation of the First Amendment.

A key component of humanism is relativism, where there is no absolute truth.  This has in part led to the development of a manual in Afghanistan that blames our own troops' insensitivity to the Islamic culture for causing the green on blue violence in that nation, rather than blaming the true source--Islamic jihad.

Furthermore, our military is confused as to who the enemy is.  They are attacked by a jihadi at Fort Hood and it is called "workplace violence."  Russian military forces are invited in our borders to participate in "counter-terrorism" exercises.  We are aiding and abetting the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East, an organization that intends to re-establish a hostile Caliphate and destroy America.  One of our Ambassadors is slain in North Africa while the military is forbidden from coming to his aid.  We kill al Qaeda operatives in Yemen (for Saudi Arabia?), while supporting them and their allies in Syria and Libya.

Military leadership has been involved in suppressing the First Amendment rights of United States citizens when it comes to speech against Islam, and have publicly humiliated a fellow officer for teaching the threat that Islam presents.  Then they "pivot to the Pacific," however China is not considered a threat but Iran in the Middle East remains so.  Then some in our government talk about unilaterally reducing our nuclear arsenal to below 300 weapons while Russia is modernizing and exercising their nuclear triad.

Who is the enemy???

We need to get our military back on track and fast.  They are all over the world "chasing Indians," disasters, and handing out humanitarian assistance.  They need to be focused on the one thing they need to get right--defending our nation against existential threats.  They need to be preparing for war, and they need a clear vision as to who are the enemies of America.  With the imminent reduction in the military budget, this becomes all the more critical.

Army plans to shift troops to U.S. Africa Command

Aims for quick crisis response

By Kristina Wong - The Washington Times, Sunday, December 23, 2012

U.S. Africa Command, the military’s newest regional force, will have more troops available early next year as the Pentagon winds down from two ground wars over the past decade, Gen. Raymond T. OdiernoArmy chief of staff, told The Washington Times.

As part of Gen. Odierno’s Regionally Aligned Forces concept, about 1,200 soldiers will deploy to Africa as early as March in an effort to place troops strategically around the globe to respond quickly to sudden challenges in hot spots such as Libya and to develop ties with the people and officials in host countries.

“It’s about us moving towards a scalable, tailorable capability that helps them to shape the environment they’re working in, doing a variety of tasks from building partner capability to engagement, to multilateral training to bilateral training to actual deployment of forces, if necessary,” Gen. Odierno said in an interview.

Amid budget cuts and with President Obama’s new military strategy downplaying the chances of another major land war, the Army has sought to maintain its relevance among admirals and generals in the Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa — likely places for the next flash point. When terrorists attacked the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, no U.S. troops were close enough to help.

Ready, responsive

Beginning in March, small teams of soldiers from the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based in Fort Riley, Kan., will conduct at least 108 missions in at least 34 countries in Africa through mid-2014.

The missions could include humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, training host-nation forces in marksmanship, first aid and other skills, and conducting military exercises. To prepare for these missions, soldiers are studying the regions and cultures of countries where they will deploy, and learning Arabic, Swahili, French and Portuguese.

shameless plug friday

I mentioned on my 2013 goal list that I'm going to work on opening up a bit more about other parts of my life. Probably not to the lady next to me in line at the grocery store, or my dentist, but certainly to my uber supportive and loyal readers. (tear)

This I'm sure sounds easy to a lot of you but for me it will certainly be a challenge. I don't share a lot of things about myself readily. When I'm with my friends, I would much rather talk about them. In work I'm never good at patting myself on the back or tooting my own horn. It's not really a shy issue, as those who know me will testify - I'm so not shy. It's more of a "I'm sure (insert person's name here) doesn't care about (insert accomplishment here). I don't want to bother them with that boring stuff." So  that's probably a self-esteem issue? I don't know, there is probably a Lifetime Television movie that can work me thru it.

source

I've already been working on it for the past year. This blog was a huge step towards teaching myself that it is OK to tell others "Hey I did (insert accomplishment here) and I'm pretty proud of it."

Next step is to push myself a little to share more than just my own projects, but the projects that I do for others. And who knows, maybe even the occasional 'these crazy kids' story. No worries though, design is still my core.

I'm going to start small today with this little shocker. Did you know that you can 'like' little black door on Facebook? It's true. I'm on the cutting edge people. This Facebook thing is going places. And, I'm also on Twitter. I just blew your mind, I know. I'm on Instagram too, but that's a long story that shows nothing but my Instagram ignorance.

So make my Friday, and have some fun. Go on over to Facebook, and Twitter and 'like' me. Shameless plug indeed. If you do, I promise to never post another inspirational quote. Ever.

Happy Weekend!

Sheriffs CAN Block Federal Gun Control
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

******************

"A high-profile former sheriff who once sued the U.S. government over its gun regulations – and won – says it is the local sheriff who will have to defend Americans when and if the feds starting banning and confiscating guns.

Richard Mack, a former sheriff in Graham County, Ariz., joined with then-Ravalli County Sheriff Jay Printz in a lawsuit against Washington when Bill Clinton demanded sheriff’s enforce provisions of the Brady Bill gun control law.

He won. And since then he’s been at the front of a movement that highlights the responsibility of local sheriffs.

Now, as Washington gears up to consider imperious plans to limit guns, require fingerprinting and registration, impose additional taxes and fees, ban particular features or functions outright, and even confiscate weapons of self-defense, Mack has told WND that there’s hope remaining in local law enforcement.

It’s not complicated, he said.

“Gun control is illegal and it’s against the Constitution,” he said. “What people don’t realize is that the Second Amendment was designed to protect us from the power of the federal government.”

He said he would expect sheriffs across the country to defend the rights of ordinary Americans."

Think about it for a moment.  When the conflicts between local citizens and the federal agents begin, who is the person to get between them?  You local sheriff, that's who.

When I was sworn-in, many years ago, as a deputy sheriff, I swore to uphold and protect the US Constitution.  As Mr. Carl points out in his very enlightening article, gun control is illegal.  It is a violation of the US Constitution.  The 2nd Amendment says plainly your right to keep and bear ("bear" means "to carry") arms shall not be infringed.  Infringed means "to go against," to change, to limit,  and on, and on.  In plain language it means the government cannot, legally, do a darned thing to infringe your rights under the Second Amendment.

Seems to me, a local sheriff would be well within his rights, in upholding the law (the constitution)  to arrest any, and all, federal agents who persist in an attempt to enforce any federally imposed gun control laws in his jurisdiction.

Here is a little known fact:  " ... no matter what gun control laws are passed by the federal government, they can only be enforced in your area if your county sheriff allows them to be."  Read more: http://godfatherpolitics.com/8806/county-sheriffs-can-block-federal-gun-control/#ixzz2H1443Hyg

" ... the county sheriff is the highest governmental authority in his county and he does not have to bow to the tyranny of the federal government if he deems such actions to be unconstitutional or unlawful.  In essence, the county sheriff has more legal authority within his county than the governor or the state or even the president of the United States."

I agree with the writer of the article at godfatherpolitics.com.   But I see two problems.  One: The American government is no longer bound to the constitution.  Having decided the constitution is no longer valid, since we MODERN Americans have outgrown its lack of moral relativism, our current government just does whatever the heck it pleases and rams it down the throats of the citizens.

Two: The American citizen is so totally ignorant of his/her rights under the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, that they no longer protest when their government goes rogue.  Of course, there is always the ten percent who either don't get the word or don't give a da*n.

Given the above information, don't you think it might be prudent to contact your local sheriff and inquire where he/she stands on gun control and the enforcement of unconstitutional laws in his/her jurisdiction?

Sheriff Richard Mack has authored a book entitled:  "From My Cold Dead Fingers."  In the book, Sheriff Mack clearly outlines why the unrestricted right of the people as individuals "to keep and bear arms" is essential to the preservation of both individual liberty and domestic tranquility. Mack reminds us of facts that were self-evident to earlier generations of Americans, but which are all but forgotten in today's climate of incessant cries for more gun control. Critics tell us "From My Cold Dead Fingers." is concise and compelling.  They say this book is an indispensable resource for any lover of freedom. Some even insist "From My Cold Dead Fingers." is one of the most essential books ever written on the Second Amendment.

As we Americans try to wind our way through these weeks, months, and years of uncertainty, and turmoil that began upon the swearing-in of Obama, the first time, and continues even today, extending into the future for at least four more years, we desperately need leaders.  The only leadership coming out of our nation's capitol is leading the wrong way, down the path to utter destruction.

Could it be that American leadership will ultimately be found at the local level -- with our powerful county sheriffs?  Indeed, what could be more American than that?

These are, indeed, "times that try men's souls."  We are undoubtedly living through a period in our country's history that will decide the fate, not only of OUR country, but of the world community.  For, as our friends at Canada Free Press say right across the top of their website, "Because without a free America there is no free world."

Since the early days of the 20th century America has been fighting wars with and for of its global neighbors attempting to maintain conditions that allow freedom to grow and flourish  for all people.  Now it is time we Americans turn our attention inward and clean up around our own doorstep and in our own home.  Its not just something we'd like to do -- it is something we MUST do -- or we will perish.

It's not about gun control.  It's about people control, about liberty, about freedom, it's about making America safe for socialism. It's about whether America survives as a free country or dies with the shackles and chains of slavery wrapped tightly around her neck and the heavy yoke of a powerful central government dragging her down into the dust.

The only question -- do we have the courage to stand up, as men, and demand that our God-given rights be left alone, acknowledged as sacrosanct,  just as God and the founders of this nation intended?  Or,  do we curl up in a fetal position and mewl weakly for our national nanny to tuck us in.

At my, ahem, advanced age, I'm getting down to the "short rows" in life now and it pains me to know that I may be leaving my grandchildren an America as completely "messed-up" as it is today.

As I watch our government taken over by the socialists, those who would redistribute the wealth of that portion of this nation who work hard, scrimp, save, and "render unto Caesar" their taxes to better their lot in life and the lot of their children, I am reminded of something Samuel Adams said in an article in the Boston Gazette back in 1768.  Adams said this:  “The utopian schemes of leveling (He means re-distribution of the wealth) and a community of goods (Here Adams is referring to that which we call socialism today)  are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional. Now what property can the colonists be conceived to have, if their money may be granted away by others, without their consent?”—Samuel Adams, Boston Gazette, April 4, 1768. (Emphasis mine)

Socialism came ashore with the folks from the Mayflower.  It failed -- and nearly cost the colony's life.  It has been trying for a comeback in America ever since. Today socialism is thriving in America, and again, as it always does, it is killing its host.

Ben Swann: Truth Behind Piers Morgan's Anti-Gun "Facts"

In this video, Ben Swann of Reality Check corrects the "facts" that Piers Morgan used during his interview of Alex Jones of PrisonPlanet and Infowars.  Excellent work on his part.
  • EU named Britain as the most violent country in the EU.
  • UK has 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people, which is ahead of even South Africa (1,609 per 100,000).
  • The US has 466 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
Piers Morgan, go home.
