GOP insiders back Sen. Marco Rubio in 2016

There’s gonna be a lot of talk of who’s the top choice for the GOP nod in 2016.  My top choice is Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, but I like Rubio too.

The Hill reports Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-Fla.) political stock is rated a buy by major Republican fundraisers in Washington, who are bullish on Rubio’s future as a 2016 presidential candidate.

A group of Republican fundraising heavyweights and wise men in Washington’s business community are solidly behind Rubio, and see him not only as someone who could win the White House, but someone they can work with.

The fundraisers include Bill Paxon, a former New York lawmaker who is now a senior adviser at Akin Gump; Dirk Van Dongen, the president of the National Wholesalers Association; and Wayne Berman, a big-time donor with a knack for picking winning candidates in presidential primaries.

All three are a party of the business wing of the Republican Party that has clashed with the Tea Party. Their support for Rubio suggests they see him as a possible ally going forward.
Political strategists think Rubio’s chances of winning the GOP nomination in 2016 are looking better because of the bridge scandal embroiling New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) decision to forego a White House bid to aim for the gavel of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

“Marco Rubio is very much in the top tier of potential Republican candidates. Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t looked at any data and doesn’t understand the dynamics of the Republican primary,” said Whit Ayres, a Republican pollster who counts Rubio as one of his clients. “Look at who votes. It’s very difficult to make the case that Chris Christie has a better chance winning the primary than Rubio.”

I don’t care what the insiders say; they’re wrong most of the time anyway.  When it’s all said and done I believe the GOP nominee will be a governor.  These are the same fool insiders that were on Christie’s bandwagon.  That doesn’t speak much for their judgment.

WASHINGTON -- Consumers opened their wallets more than expected last month even though their incomes failed to grow, another indication the economy picked up steam heading into the new year, the Commerce Department said Friday.

Steam power for the win apparently.

Married Cincinnati Hills Christian school teacher Jamie Climie who nude photos surfaced on 'revenge porn' sites is charged with LYING to police her phone had been stolen to cover up Adultery

It appears this married teacher was having an affair with another person who in turn posted her nude photo on a revenge website.
That’s why she lied to police to try and cover her misdeeds.  Play with fire and you can get burned.
Daily Mailreports a former Ohio Christian school teacher who resigned last year after X-rated photos of her ended up online has been arrested for allegedly lying to police about her cell phone being stolen.

Law enforcement officials in West Chester said Jamie Climie, 36, a married woman with young children, was not telling the truth when on November 24, 2013, she reported her iPhone 4S stolen.

The Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy fifth-grade science teacher told police that her phone contained racy images of herself that she had only sent to her husband, the station WCPO reported.

Climie's theft claim came just one day after several graphic pictures surfaced on the site My Ex specializing in so-called 'revenge porn.' On one X-rated site, Climie’s nude selfies drew 110,000 views, WKRC reported.

The 36-year-old wife and mother was initially placed on administrative leave from the private Cincinnati school before quitting her teaching position last month.
The school has a code of conduct and morality that staff must agree to abide by, Academy spokeswoman Jennifer Murphy said.

At the time, Climie's husband told local news outlets that he and his wife had no idea how the intimate photos got leaked.

One photo is a selfie taken in a private home's bathroom mirror. The blonde, tan woman in the image is completely naked with one of her hands on her hip and the other with the smartphone camera.

Trading Update

I bought a 19-year TIPS last June. It was actually a bit less than 19 years. It will mature on April 15, 2032. That means it is now an 18-year TIPS. I locked in a 1.06% real yield with intent to hold to maturity.

As of today:

The 20-year TIPS yields 1.07%.
The 10-year TIPS yields 0.53%.

Using interpolation, those purchasing the 18-year TIPS now are now only getting 0.96% (1.07% x 0.8 + 0.53% x 0.2 = 0.96%).

I therefore cannot complain about my most recent purchase (or any previous TIPS purchase for that matter).

Real yields have been falling rather consistently since the early 1980s. It has rarely paid to procrastinate when a real yield became acceptable. For what it is worth (as a permabear), I feel today's long-term real yield is acceptable. If I had more money to deploy (beyond emergency savings), I would buy more long-term TIPS at these levels.

1. There is a whopping $12.2 trillion still willing to earn a nominal yield of just 0.084%. Talk about a slow painful death (of inflation adjusted savings).

2. I think the direction of this economy over the long-term is directly tied to the direction of real yields over the long-term. Waiting around for better real yields is a bit like waiting around for a better economy (temporary bubbles notwithstanding). Good luck on that one.

3. I don't think the global economy can tolerate higher real yields (our economy in particular). I would point to what these "low rates" have done to recent stock market activity, recent emerging market activity, and holiday sales.

4. Where's the hyperinflation? If anything, the CPI is trending down again even though we've been in ZIRP for 5 full years. You may wonder why I like long-term inflation protected bonds when seen in that light. Well, I am a relative inflation agnostic over the long-term. My investments are a pure play on falling real growth instead, and real growth has been falling. Big shocker.

This is not investment advice. As always, just opinions. Maybe I am wrong to be a permabear. You know what? I sure hope I am! It would only help me if real yields rose because the economy was doing better. I'd be able to reinvest the proceeds at higher rates when my bonds mature. I really don't think I will be that lucky though (not by any stretch of my imagination). Sigh.

UPDATE:Spring Branch ISD teacher Kathryn Murray gets her sentenced doubled for having sex with 15 yr old student

I think she’s still getting off extremely light, pardon the pun
CHRON reports Kathryn Murray smiles as she leaves the courtroom after being sentenced by visiting state District Judge Frank Price on two charges of sexual assault of a child on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in Houston. The former Spring Branch ISD teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student will spend a year in jail and a second year on probation after agreeing to a plea bargain Tuesday.

Update: Former teacher Kathryn Murray, who had sex with one of her students, will be spending more time behind bars, reports on Friday say.
Her original sentence of one year in jail did not meet sentencing guidelines, KTRK reports, and Murray's punishment was doubled.  KHOU says she will serve two years in jail, with no probation, and still has to register as a sex offender.

Their relationship began innocently enough: A 15-year-old Memorial Middle School student from Costa Rica was trying to learn English with help from a teacher.
His tutor, in her third year at Spring Branch ISD, started keeping him after school and passing him notes that contained promises of a happy life together.

The goings-on came to an abrupt end when the teen's younger brother caught the pair in bed. The younger boy told his parents, who had been away from the house at the time, about what he'd seen and about finding a condom and a tan bra.

On Tuesday, the teen's parents said their son had been victimized first by 30-year-old Kathryn Camille Murray and then by the system.

The former teacher was sentenced to a year in jail and a year of probation, which was too lenient, the boy's family said.

"If this had been a 27-year-old man and a 15- year-old girl, the judgment in there would have been completely different," the teen's father said outside of a Harris County courtroom. "It goes to show you the double standard

Female teachers get lessor sentences than male teachers and that's an issue.  But, the bigger problem is we have an nation-wide epidemic of teachers having sex with students and it doesn't get a national debate.

Ramona kindergarten teacher drops her pants in during school recess at James Dukes Elementary School

What going on over at Jimmy Dukes?
10 Newsreports questions are being raised in Ramona after a teacher at James Dukes Elementary School took off her pants during recess. The bizarre behavior has some families worried that the teacher could be a danger to their children.

"I was just in total shock," said Allen Wetter, whose six-year-old granddaughter witnessed the incident.

Wetter is concerned that the teacher, who 10News is not naming, will return to school too soon.

"Just think about it: If one of us were to drop our pants in front of kindergarteners, do you think we'd be back at work by Monday?" he asked.

Wetter and his wife, Teri, say school officials first claimed the teacher hurt her eye, then that she'd suffered some sort of a seizure.

10News contacted Ramona Unified School District Superintendent Robert Graeff, who confirmed the incident happened but said it was "overblown."

"At no time were any students in danger," said Graeff, who added the teacher would not return to the classroom until she's fit for duty.

Because of privacy issues, Graeff could not provide details of the teacher's illness, but said the district is working with her to make sure she gets the medical assistance she needs.

After 10News began making inquiries, parents of children at the school received the following recorded message on their telephones:

"Good afternoon, James Dukes families and staff. This is Principal Harris and I am calling with an important message. I would like to take a moment to clarify details from an incident that happened in a secluded area of the campus during recess on Thursday. One of our female, primary grade teachers was battling illness where she became confused and disoriented, resulting in the staff member temporarily removing a piece of her clothing. This incident  was not typical of her behavior and was only witnessed by a few students. The teacher received medical attention immediately and students remained calm at all times. Although a specific date is not yet certain, the teacher does plan to return to work once her medical needs are addressed satisfactorily. Please be assured that your students' safety, and the safety of the staff, is my first priority. Like you, I am proud to be a part of the Coyote pack and as always, I am available if you have any concerns."

CNN begins reports in SPANISH

*****BIG CHANGES IN THE NEWS*****

¿Cómo se dice en inglés

The growing Mexican American Culture

Now that we have legislation to LEGALIZE all the ILLEGAL ALIENS we will now have a growing population of Spanish speaking people that will move this country into a completely new culture of Mexican Americans.  You might hear a reduction now in all that African American culture with their niggas, bitches, and hoes filth and perhaps we can have a little less perversion and begin growing some families (la familias) in America again.

This is not necessarily all bad, however a friend of mine wrote me a letter recently which I will insert here for your reading pleasure.  It's right on topic:

LETTER FROM MY FRIEND:

This is not a simple issue.

The Democrats want the illegals in order to use them to get reelected. This will work for a while, but Mexicans are not lazy, contrary to the stereotype most Anglos have of them. They will go to work and thrive. They will vote Democrat, and then one day they will get better pay, and they will see how much tax is taken out of their paycheck, and they will become Republicans. I know this from Hispanic friends I have back in Arizona.

Also, Anglos are not having their babies. They are too busy and avoid it. They also kill their babies. Mexicans have babies and love them. Because of this the US has a shortage of common labor. I mean REALLY common, like picking lettuce in the Imperial Valley at 120 degrees. Mexicans seem to thrive on it, and the farmers cannot get enough help without the illegals. I saw this also in Arizona where the Border Patrol actually looked the other way with illegals in the park in Wilcox laying around like they were idle. A pick up would drive up, a group of illegals would climb in, and off they would go to a nearby farm. I talked to a farmer customer, and he said they could not run the farm paying Anglos to do the work in the hot summer sun. Anglos would be panting and sitting on their butts and demand more pay.

The rub will come when a lot of them go back to Mexico. California Hispanics are lazy because they are spoiled, having grown up to the sixth generation in the USA. They are a very different mob. Illegals come to the USA to work for four to five years, send almost all their money back home to Mamma, and then they return. They left Chihuahua or Sonora poor and living with relatives, and when they go home they can buy a house with the money they earned in the USA. Many of the illegals will not stay in the USA, even though they are given citizenship. Their heart is in Mexico.

Texas politicians know about this, and they would be a lot more lenient on the illegals, but the rest of the USA would think Texans were not patriotic. The ranchers of the Southwest NEED the illegals, and as citizens they will be more predictable. Also, the Mexicans will be paid better as citizens, which is an issue as far as I am concerned. We love our cheap tomatoes and lettuce, but it is at the price of very low pay for the illegals. Righteous issues look different after you see this up close.

The problems down the road will be coming, but I do not think anyone knows what they are. The Hispanics in Texas, except for a very few trouble makers, are 100% American, and many of them reject the title “Hispanic” and tell you they are Americans or Texans (Tejanos). They are very orderly in Hispanic middle class neighborhoods also. They have a strong family and community culture, and the kids are terrified of making their family look bad by their behavior. Frankly, I would look forward to the illegals becoming citizens to they add to the working Hispanic population.

The big company CEOs see the day coming when they will not be able to get cheap labor because the Black community will not work, and the Anglos are too proud to take low paying jobs. So, in that light, I really have no time to waste complaining about this one. Furthermore, it is hard to win Mexicans to Christ, but if they are next door it will be a lot easier. These Baptist missionaries who sit in the USA and claim to be missionaries to Mexico will have to put up or shut up for a change.

Finally, there are not enough people to pay for my Social Security. The baby boomers were followed by the Americans who hate babies and refuse to have them. This country is in deep trouble to find a way to pay forward from a shrinking work force. So, Mexicans would have to start paying Social Security, and that would help a lot to balance the mess.

Conservatives always to a knee jerk response to the illegal issue, but most people who live in the Southwest know the issues and are not as angry about this as Yankees and all points north.

It is a complex issue for sure.

And notice they are introducing that culture to guess what?  BITCOIN!  :-)

El Bitcoin como forma de pago

Perhaps BITCOIN being introduced here in the video as a form of payment will be implemented in the U.S.A. now as a load of currency will be needed with an increasing population of illegals entering the nation.  We might just be on the cusp of not a CURRENCY DEVALUATION or CURRENCY RESET,  but a complete CURRENCY TRANSFORMATION.  I suspect this may the plan folks.  Take a look.  Do you need a translator Americans?  Time to learn Spanish:

What will Janet do?

The Federal Reserve Bank

The economic trends may be shifting again as the U.S. STOCK MARKET recently pulled back substantially on the announcement of tapering by The Federal Reserve Bank.  After listening to this former Assistant Treasury Secretary Dr. Paul Craig Roberts I'm now convinced that any further substantial decline in the stock market may result in some extremely undesirable market conditions.  Perhaps we will hear from the new Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen this week at the FED as she's sworn in to take her position:

I have a QUESTION about the Federal Reserve:  Since the Federal Reserve Bank is a "PRIVATE" bank then why is the website a "dot GOV" address?  Can anyone answer that?

The latest policy issue caused quite a stir on Wall Street as the markets have turned down now and become incredibly volatile and extremely erratic as a result of HIGH FREQUENCY TRADING ALGORITHMS.  This is resulting in increased difficulty for the investor and various trading systems could trip the markets into and undesirable sell off which has financial analysts concerned.

The talk continues by the analysts trying to figure out whether the economic recovery will continue unabated by any serious market instability as the latest FOMC statement indicated to continue with their maximum employment and price stability measures.  This however does not seem to be calming a growing fear factor among the investment community and financial firms as even a Wells Fargo spokesman expects at least a 15% MARKET CORRECTION on the news.

LISTEN to Dr. Paul Craig Roberts discuss this with Eric King regarding the FOMC announcement and the resultant global market instability we are seeing now.  There's also a rumor that Christine Legarde is putting pressure on U.S. BANKS and although this rumor cannot be fully substantiated there are already signs that this may be an accurate observation:

Banks Questioning Depositors

Recent Bank Reports on CASH WITHDRAWL CONCERNS:

It's being reported that banks are beginning to interrogate their account holders as to why they are withdrawing money and what they intend to spend it on.  There are reports that people are being placed on SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY LISTS for withdrawing their own money for their own personal reasons:

This is very troubling as we learn that there is a general trend in government at showing increased signs of unconstitutional behavior and threatening we the people with disciplinary measures when in fact no crimes are being committed.  The excuse is often made that these are Homeland Security measures to keep our nation safe from domestic terrorism however is a direct violation of the rights of we the people.

We certainly are in growing perilous times and these reports are already beginning to cause quite a tumultuous atmosphere of concern across this nation.

Utah County Deputy Wride Killed In Cold Blood By Armed Felon

Cory Wride and José Ángel García Jáuregui

Murder suspect, Jáuregui died of gunshot wounds on Friday and his companion, a female minor remains in custody.

By H. Nelson Goodson
February 1, 2014

Spanish Fort, Utah - Utah County Sheriff Jim Tracy said during a press conference, that Deputy Sergeant Cory Wride, 44, had been killed on Thursday by a lone gunman, José Ángel García Jáuregui, 27, when he stopped to render aid. Wride reported that he was checking out a parked vehicle on the road and was going to investigate, if the motorist needed any help.
As Sgt. Wride parked his vehicle off the road. He went to talk to Jáuregui who was accompanied by a female minor. When Wride went back to do a check for warrants, Jáuregui then fatally shot Wride with a rifle while sitting in his squad.
Jáuregui then fled the scene with the minor. While being pursued for about 50 miles between Utah and Juab Counties, Jáuregui managed to shoot and injured one pursuing deputy in the head. Utah County Deputy Greg Sherwood, 38, underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Juab County deputies later shot and wounded Jáuregui after crashing a second vehicle that he managed to carjack. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died on Friday from the injures.
The minor was taken into custody, but has not been identified.
Jáuregui had a warrant issued on Wednesday for parole violation. He was convicted of attempted homicide and served four and a half years in prison, but in December 2012 was released on parole.
Sgt. Wride is survived by his wife and five children.
