Did Rep. Michael Grimm apologize to NY1 reporter to head off criminal prosecution for assault?

This is the exchange between the reporter and Rep. Grimm:
"I'm not speaking to you off-topic, this is only about the president," said Grimm, before walking off camera.

"So Congressman Michael Grimm does not want to talk about some of the allegations concerning his campaign finances," Scotto said before tossing back to the station. But as the camera continued to roll, Grimm walked back up to Scotto and began speaking to him in a low voice.

"What?" Scotto responded. "I just wanted to ask you..."
Grimm: "Let me be clear to you, you ever do that to me again I'll throw you off this f-----g balcony."

Scotto: "Why? I just wanted to ask you..."

Grimm: "If you ever do that to me again..."
Scotto: "Why? Why? It’s a valid question."

Grimm: "No, no, you're not man enough, you're not man enough. I'll break you in half. Like a boy."

I did a little checking and simple assault in in Washington D.C. is as follows:

“Assault” is defined generally as the threat or use of force on another person that causes that person to have reasonable apprehension of imminent harmful or offensive contact.  Assault can be a civil wrong (or “tort”).

I’d say threatening to throw somebody of a balcony and rip them into two like a little boy constitutes enough evidence as shown in the video that Congressman Grimm at most threatened the NY1 reporter’s life or at least is guilty of coming the crime of assault under the criminal code of Washington D.C.

Congressman Grimm broke the law and should be prosecuted and if not why not?  Are politicians above the law even though there is video proof of the crime?

College football player Conner Mertens comes out as Bi-sexual at Willamette (Ore.) University

And the reason we have to know this is what exactly?
How one has sex is a private activity.  It supposed to be nobody’s business.  But the only distinction LBGTWXYZ’s have in life is how they do it.  So that’s why they feel compelled to pronounce to the world “Hey, I do with the same sex, or both sexes, or both sexes and occasional wide life.  So treat me special.”

USA Today reports after years of feeling somewhat alone in the world, Conner Mertens, a 19-year-old red-shirt freshman kicker for Willamette (Ore.) University football team, finally has found some peace.
Last week, the student-athlete told his coach, Glen Fowles, that he is bisexual, that he has a boyfriend — and on Monday he announced it to the rest of the world in the name of helping and inspiring other LGBT athletes, students, and people like him.

"Hi, I'm Conner," he said as he sat down with a big smile on his face, his teammates and coach on either side of him, and he dug into the issue with confidence.
"I want to end stereotypes and stigmas that go along with what it means to like the same sex or be attracted to the same sex," said Mertens at the small press conference held Tuesday at Sparks Athletic Center at Willamette University.

On Monday, Mertens was in the Willamette University men's locker room with his teammates and coaches, who had gathered to discuss his announcement. Mertens typed out a letter and handed out copies for everyone to read. Wade Davis, a former NFL player, also was present to talk with the team. The team's reaction was a positive one.

Super Bowl Ad: Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

Hollywood gets into Bible craze.  I wonder how much will they alter the true story of Noah.
Deadlinereports Russell Crowe stars as the biblical hero in Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah, which will make an appearance during the Super Bowlnearly a month before it hits theaters.
Word is the pic from the Black Swan helmer isn’t your grandpa’s kind of Bible study (or even Mark Burnett’s) but a dark, existential take on the Ark saga. Anthony
Hopkins, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, and Ray Winstone co-star. Paramount releases the epic on March 28. Check out the 30-second Super Bowl spot:

Alabama doctor Dr. Zenko Hrynkiw walks six miles in the snow to perform life-saving surgery

That’s dedication to a profession.  Kudos to Dr. Z!
AOL News Dr. Zenko Hrynkiw was at Brookwood Medical Center Tuesday morning when he was needed for emergency brain surgery at Trinity Medical Center.

The problem was the sudden snowstorm had locked down traffic, and the neurosurgeon didn't get farther than a few blocks.

"The cell service was bad so we were fading in and out," said Steve Davis, charge nurse in the neuro intensive care unit at Trinity. "At one point, I heard him say, 'I'm walking.'"
Davis had alerted authorities, and they were looking for him. There were supposed sightings, but no one could find him.

"The police were looking for him," Davis said.

Hours had gone by since the initial contact in the morning.

"He finally called me and said where's the patient? What's the status?" Davis said. "He spoke to the family and went off to surgery."
