Don Harrold sells his SILVER FORECAST services

The Day Trade Show

Yea right

This guy is someone I happened across after keeping track of the silver community propaganda over the last three years.  This is one of the strangest cats on the planet apart from the other basket of babblers that inhabit YOU TUBE with their great and swelling words of wisdom.  He calls himself the Day Trade Show and never do you hear him once cover one day trade--ever.

Now he's offering his forecast for hire on the SILVER MARKET and how you can get in or get out as needed for $2.47.  He's also been selling COPPER and other BASE METALS at incredibly inflated prices.  Is this another G4T type?  Yes, but worse--there are plenty of them that inhabit YOU TUBE.

There is some truth here though about silver if you study it closely.  You can make a lot of money on SILVER and even GOLD.  There are opportunities here:

Mayor Bill de Blasio sends signal to New York’s criminals its okay to carry your guns again by dropping Stop and Frisk appeal

I don’t give a rip what Comrade de Blasio may say about a new day between the police and the community.  If you’re citizen of the city you better grow a pair of eyes in the back of your heads because thugs are gonna carry their iron with impunity.  More guns on the street means more shots are gonna be fired.

De Blasio’s new theories about crime prevention won’t matter when one is busy dodging bullets!

ABC News reports New York City's new mayor on Thursday delivered on his promise to reform stop-and-frisk police tactics, requesting to drop an appeal of a federal judge's order requiring reforms and reaching a deal that was praised by those who sued the city over discrimination claims.

Lawyers for Mayor Bill de Blasio asked the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court to send an appeal to the lower court "for the purpose of exploring a full resolution."

"The City of New York will officially drop its reform in this case," de Blasio said. "This will be one city where everyone rises together, where everyone's rights are protected."

Lawyers for the Center for Constitutional Rights, which has represented plaintiffs in the court actions, said the deal calls for a monitor to oversee reforms for three years. The monitor will oversee a process in which those communities most affected by the stop-and-frisk tactics will provide input into reforms.

"Today is the beginning of a long-overdue process: the reform of the NYPD to end illegal and racially discriminatory policing," said Vincent Warren, executive director of the Center for Constitutional Rights.

MSNBC Fires Employee Responsible for Cheerios Tweet

For the record as a Rightwinger I love these Cheerios ads and I think the little girl in them is the most adorable.  However, I don’t buy for a second that anybody has been fired at MSNBC.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again the sole purpose of MSNBC is to keep black folks voting Democrat by painting all Republicans as racist.  This tweet was the latest manifestation of that systematic policy.

"The tweet was outrageous and unacceptable," says MSNBC president Phil Griffin.

MSNBC has fired the employee who sent out a controversial Tweet involving a Cheerios commercial that features a biracial family.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, MSNBC president Phil Griffin called the Tweet "outrageous and unacceptable."

STORY: Republicans Boycott MSNBC Over Cheerios Tweet

"We immediately acknowledged that it was offensive and wrong, apologized, and deleted it," the statement continued. "We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet. I personally apologize to Mr. Priebus and to everyone offended. At MSNBC we believe in passionate, strong debate about the issues and we invite voices from all sides to participate. That will never change."

MSNBC anchor Ari Melber read Griffin's statement at the end of the network's 3 p.m. hour.

The tweet prompted Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus to call for a Republican boycott of the network.

The full tweet, sent at 8:06 p.m. from the MSNBC Twitter account, read: "Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/biracial family."

Mitt Romney Is the 2016 Republican Front-Runner

I like Mitt, but it’s time to move on.  He should’ve been president the past 6 years.

National Journal reports this is not an "Onion" story.

Mitt Romney leads the Republican field among New Hampshire primary voters for 2016. Yes, you read that right.

Why not make it a third run for president? That's something that the former Republican nominee is definitely not thinking about right now. To put it in his own recent words: "Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no."

But that didn't stop the Virginia-based bipartisan policy firm Purple Strategies from adding his name to a recent survey for Granite State voters, which shows Romney in the lead with 25 percent support. Libertarian firebrand Rand Paul (who has strong infrastructure in New Hampshire) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are behind with 18 percent and 17 percent support, respectively.

We might be experiencing Mittmentum 3.0. The Netflix documentary about his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns was recently released to the excitement of political insiders everywhere. GOP insiders want him to come back: "You know what a lot of them say to me?" an anonymous "operative" told BuzzFeed. "I think we need Mitt back." Romney was even on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to slow jam the news.

I learned to like Mitt a lot, but this is a pipe dream.

Key Jalisco Cartel Leader Arrested By Mexican Military In Guadalajara

Rubén Oseguera González

Top leader of Nueva Generación Cartel has been arrested.

By H. Nelson Goodson
January 30, 2014

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico - On Thursday, Rubén Oseguera González, 23, was taken into custody at the municipality of Zapopan during a five hour early morning operation by the Mexican military in the city of Guadalajara, according to Monte Alejandro Rubido García, head of the Mexican Government National Security. González is considered one of the top leaders in charge of the Nueva Generación (New Generation) de Jalisco drug cartel. His father, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, aka, "El Mencho" is considered as one of the founders and main leaders of the La Nueva Generación Cartel along with Erick Valencia Salazar.
González was wanted for running a drug smuggling operation between South America and Mexico, in order to smuggle drugs into the U.S. The military confiscated 13 weapons exclusively used by the military, a grenade and large amounts of money.
González was taken to Mexico City to be processed by the Mexican Federal Attorney General's Special Organized Crime Bureau.

Milwaukee County Seniority Will No Longer Be Key Factor For County-wide Bumping During Layoffs

Chris Abele

New proposed Milwaukee County employee rules under Civil Service Rules could cut about 170 employees seniority, but will increase seniority for 330 of 500 affected.

By H. Nelson Goodson
January 30, 2014

Milwaukee,  WI - On Wednesday, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele sent out an e-mail to all County workers about proposed changes on seniority, County-wide layoff considerations, employment protection and reimbursement for work related expenses for non-County Safety workers. Abele in the e-mail wrote, "Unfortunately some of these potential changes in the proposal have been misrepresented and I want to take the opportunity to clearly lay out what these changes would do. These changes preserve employment protections for employees, and preserve other important provisions such as sick pay, shift differential, number of vacation days and pension and health benefits. Accrued seniority will be maintained, however would be considered on a County-wide basis. The proposal also continues important provisions such as reimbursement for work related expenses like seminars, license fees, and continuing education. Most importantly, the proposal does not take away any civil service or legal rights."
Since under the Governor Scott Walker (R) 2011 Act 10 law, County employees no longer can use a union for bargaining wage differences,  but have to file grievances with the Department of Human Resources (DHR) who have recommended changes in some areas in its Crosswalk report. Seniority will no longer be used as a basis to bump another employee on a County-wide basis, except within a classification and department facing a layoff, which eliminates the placement provision, according to Abele and the DHR Crosswalk memo proposal.
The new proposal for some Milwaukee County employees under the Civil Service Rules could actually result in the elimination of seniority of about 170 employees, but will increase seniority for 330 of 500 employees that will be affected. Those part time employees facing seniority cuts will maintain their straight earned hours, since they were hired.
The Crosswalk proposal doesn't eliminate the current differences in pay wage inequality, which some County employees with less seniority make more than those with more seniority and college degrees in some departments.
County employees will now have to get permission before they engage in extra work related expenses due to the availability of funds for reimbursements.
Abele says, "Over the last six months, HR held nine meetings to ensure open and informative exchanges with the representatives of the collective bargaining units.  As a result of these conversations, HR is proposing changes that will create a more uniform workplace for all employees, while preserving provisions that are unique to certain classes of employees. These changes clear up the current system where co-workers might have different rules, based simply on when, where and how they were hired. The details of these changes are reflected in what has been called 'the crosswalk'.
"The proposed changes would also standardize the employee grievance system, while still giving employees appropriate opportunities to grieve discipline. The changes also get rid of outdated rules that are burdensome for employees and no longer followed, but remain in the County's Ordinances. Amongst other results, these changes would reduce the wait time for hearing grievances and would give employees a direct line to HR representatives to address workplace issues," Abele wrote in the e-mail.
Abele wants the County Board to approve the proposed changes detailed in the Crosswalk report by next month.

Parabolic Trend Failure of the Day: Retail Hourly Earnings

The following chart shows the average hourly earnings for retail employees (not adjusted for inflation). I'm using quarterly averages to smooth out the data.

The parabolic trend line in red uses the data points in red. As a side note, I first tried to use an exponential trend line but it turns out that the data was not growing exponentially (not even remotely). Parabolic is so much more fun anyway though! Very sustainable over the long-term (until it isn't)!

Retail employees just lost what little pricing power they had left. Have no fear if you are one of the 15 million retail employees though. We've been told repeatedly that our economy is strong and resilient!

That said, we've also been told that online retailers wouldn't hurt the brick and mortars all that much and that the 10-year treasury yield would be well north of 3% by now (thanks to our strong and resilient economy of course). We're told a lot of things. If we're told enough things, some of it is bound to be true!

Rather than listen to the financial "experts" on CNBC, let's summarize what the chart's trying to say in one rhetorical question or less.

Can you say retail employment glut? :(

This is not employment advice. Sigh.
