Bombshell email reveals IRS planned secret new rules to justify targeting Tea Party groups 2 YEARS AGO

Somebody tell Sen. Chuck Schumer that some IRS officials need to go to jail!

Daily Mailreports Republicans clashed with the Internal Revenue Service's new commissioner Wednesday in a Capitol Hill hearing that featured the unveiling a document indicating that the agency planned as early as 2012 to change its rules in a way that justified singling out tea party groups for special scrutiny.

The document, an email from Treasury Department tax policy attorney Ruth Madrigal to a group of IRS officials including the disgraced Lois Lerner.

'Don’t know who in your organizations is keeping tabs on c4s,' Madrigal wrote, quoting an election law blog and referring to the 501(c)(4) tax-exempt groups that were the subject of the tea party targeting scandal, 'but since we mentioned potentially addressing them (off plan) in 2013, I’ve got my radar up and this seemed interesting.'

House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Dave Camp insisted Wednesday that Madrigal's note indicated that new regulations were planned as a 'remedy to the target[ing]' back in 2011 and 2012. 'I’m pretty sure [off-plan] means "hidden from the public",' he said.

Man Bryan Barnes pleads guilty in fatal shootings of two USC students from China

Some justice for the China 2!

LATimes reports one of the two men charged in the slayings of two USC graduate students from China pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of murder in exchange for the prosecution not seeking the death penalty. He will instead serve two consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of parole.

Bryan Barnes pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, and admitted the special circumstances of multiple murders and murder during the commission of a robbery in the killings of Ying Wu and Ming Qu, which rocked the USC community and drew international media attention in the victims' native China.

The fathers of both victims, Wanzhi Qu and Xiyong Wu, addressed the court, speaking of the great devastation and loss their families have suffered when their children were killed “for no reason,” according to the L.A. County district attorney's office.

Witnesses of Florida theater killing recall flying popcorn, gunshot at bail hearing

I really don’t see how flying popcorn can be considered life threatening.

CNN reports Curtis Reeves and the widow of the man he killed inside a movie theater both shed tears Wednesday inside a Florida courtroom, as lawyers for both sides called witnesses to support their arguments on whether the 71-year-old gunman should get bail.

Along with such raw emotion, the Dade City hearing was flush with vivid details from witnesses about what happened early in the afternoon of January 13 inside a theater in the Tampa suburb of Wesley Chapel.

They recounted how, after Reeves told management about Chad Oulson texting during previews, the men exchanged words. Oulson then allegedly tossed his bag of popcorn at Reeves, who fired a single, fatal gunshot moments later.

He's been jailed ever since, without bail, on a second-degree murder charge.

Wednesday's testimony and the cross-examinations were so extensive that the day ended without a decision from Judge Pat Siracusa. Instead, the hearing will resume at 10 a.m. Friday with testimony from more prosecution witnesses and the playing of surveillance video and audio.

BOMBSHELL-CBO: ObamaCare reduces incentive for people to to work for a living, exactly what progressives want to maintain power

President Obama and Democrats want government dependency and a permanent underclass to maintain power. That’s exactly what Obamacare was designed to do.

This Is Not 1982

The following chart shows the annual average of the Dow Jones Industrial Average adjusted for inflation (December 2013 dollars). It does not account for dividends (which over the long-term can be very important clearly).

This is not 1982. We know this because the Dow Jones Industrial Average is not trading at roughly 1916 levels (adjusted for inflation).

I'm just pointing it out for those who truly believe that this is 1982 and that a whole new era of American prosperity will soon be unleashed. That said, something may soon be unleashed (again). 1999 and 2007 weren't enough warnings?

It is yet another ugly chart, but what's new? As a retiree, I'm generally a risk-off kind of guy, and that's got risk written all over it.

1. Profit margins will stay permanently elevated?
2. ZIRP is guaranteed to work long-term?
3. The business cycle is dead so it's nothing but up from here?
4. There aren't any itchy trigger fingers hovering over sell buttons?
5. The Fed knows exactly what it is doing?
6. We can continue to borrow our way to prosperity forever?
7. America can never have too many restaurants?
8. The rise in Internet commerce won't hurt malls irreparably?

About 15% of U.S. malls will fail or be converted into non-retail space within the next 10 years, according to Green Street Advisors, a real estate and REIT analytics firm. That's an increase from less than two years ago, when the firm predicted 10% of malls would fail or be converted.

It takes a great deal of faith and/or hubris to answer a resounding "yes" to all those questions. I don't have enough faith to answer yes to any of them.

This is not investment advice, but damn. Surely there were better times in all of recorded history to put money to work in the stock market.

Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), that evil republican according to many democrats and progressives, unlike some of his conservative counterparts chose to help set the record straight in regards to what the CBO said about ObamaCare this week and it's affect on jobs. Kudos to Representative Ryan for his effort to insure the truth world be understood.

Kudos also to the left leaning TPM for their recognition of Ryan doing the right thing. It was refreshing to see.

Stradivarius Violin Still Missing After Three Suspects Arrested For Theft

Stradivarius violin

$100,000 reward for missing violin being offered.

By H. Nelson Goodson
February 5, 2014

Milwaukee, WI - On Wednesday, Milwaukee Police Chief Edward A. Flynn confirmed during a press conference, that three suspects, including a woman have been arrested in connection with the January 27 stolen Stradivarius violin worth between $6 to $10 million. Two men ages, 36 and 41, and a woman, 32, were taken into custody on Monday morning after information and evidence, a Taser and Taser Probe connected one of the male suspects to the armed robbery. The suspect is known by police for a similar art theft in November 1995, when a small statue by Nicolas Africano was stolen from the Michael Lord Gallery at the Pfister Hotel. The suspect after four years later called the gallery owner to see, if he wanted to buy it back. The owner called police and the suspect was arrested.
Criminal charges are pending against the three local suspects, according to Flynn. G. B. Jones, acting FBI special agent-in-charge of the Milwaukee field office also said, that they have the suspects involved in the violin theft.
Police continue to look for the van used in the January robbery and the violin, which is still missing. A $100K reward is being offered for information leading to its recovery. Chief Flynn believes that the violin could still be in the Milwaukee area.
A warrant executed at Samantha Jone's residence, she told TMJ News 4 that her nephew, one of the suspects arrested was innocent. Police went through everything in the home and left it in a total mess, according to Jones.
The Stradivarius 1715 rare violin was reported stolen at a parking lot located at the Wisconsin Lutheran College. Police say that Frank Almond, the concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra along with other members had just finished a performance and were walking to their car in the parking when the robbery occured.  A suspect approached Almond and used a taser on him, it caused him to drop the violin. The suspect then picked up the violin and fled the scene in a mini van near by, which was driven by second suspect.
Several hours later, the violin case was found iat Washington Park, including an iPad, police say. The violin was the primary target, Chief Flynn said, during the press conference.
The violin is likely the most valuable single item ever stolen in the Milwaukee area, but the value is only appreciated by few collectors.
"It is important to note that this violin is valuable to a very small number of people in the world and is not something easily sold for what it is worth," according to police.
A Federal Bureau of Investigation Art Crimes Team from the Virginia headquarters continues to work with Milwaukee police in their investigation and recovery of the violin.
The violin has been entered into the international art theft database. The FBI team works with Interpol to connect with international art dealers who are able to help locate stolen items throughout international markets, police reported.
Interpol has been notified of the stolen violin.

U.S. DOLLAR DROPS on disappointing ADP National Employment Report

U.S. DOLLAR DROPS on disappointing ADP National Employment Report
BEARISH NEWS for U.S. DOLLAR

Already reports preceding Friday's Non-Farm Payroll Report are coming in with disappointments against the floundering U.S. economy.  This could really rattle the markets...

ADP Nonfarm Employment Change
Actual:175K
Forecast:180K

The ADP National Employment Report is a measure of the monthly change in non-farm, private employment, based on the payroll data of approximately 400,000 U.S. business clients. The release, two days ahead of government data, is a good predictor of the government's non-farm payroll report. The change in this indicator can be very volatile.

A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the USD, while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the USD.

Greg Mannarino says he's still bullish the market here

The Greg Hunter and Greg Mannarino show

No one is forcing anyone in equities markets.  I don't see anyone holding anyone at gun point as to where to put their money.  Perhaps some of you Wall Street addicts and news junkies from CNN just have to get a rush dishing out misinformation and you like to stay long and get killed in a sell off.  Embrace the horror then! :-)

So we get a pullback now on The Stock Market.  Yea what of it?  The DJIA could go up to 18,000 and it could go down to 10,000?  Brilliant!  I knew that.

"The best looking ladies at the ball" is Greg's new pet phrase.  He'll probably use that at the Liberty Mastermind Symposium in Las Vegas where he's scheduled to be one of the key note speakers on February 21st and 22nd.  You're a horrible speaker Greg:
http://libertymastermind.us/

Anything is possible here?  Wow, that took some high minded professional to convey that thought! :-)  What kind of interview is this?

The DEBT CEILING and DEBT BUBBLE

"We are in the biggest bubble in the history of the world; and that is this debt bubble.  It is without a doubt Greg, the greatest threat to humankind..."
--Greg Mannarino

Oh I see this is another book promotion to buy Greg Mannarino's book "The Politics of Money."  Greg explains the severity of the debt problem leading to a major crisis:
