6-day-old Baby Missing From Beloit Found In Iowa

Kayden J. Powell

West Branch Police Chief finds baby in a duffle bag while searching area near Iowa gas station.

By H. Nelson Goodson
February 6, 2014

Town of Beloit, WI - On Friday, police in Beloit confirmed that 6-day-old Kayden J. Powell, described as an African-American who was reported missing at 4:34 a.m. on Thursday from Rock County was found safe in Iowa. City of West Branch Police Chief Mike Horihan in Iowa was canvassing an area where a gas station is located just off on I-80 and around 10:15 a.m. found Kaden J. Powell in a duffel bag. He was reported alive, in condition and police are working to reunite the baby with his Wisconsin family.
His mother, Brianna Marshall, 18, called police on Thursday morning and said her son had disappeared from her home located at the 800 block of East Homeland Court.
Police found no forced entry to the home, but as of late afternoon on Thursday, Kayden had not been located.
Police questioned, Kristin Smith as a person of interest about the missing baby, but she is cooperating with authorities. Smith who recently claimed that Brianna was her half sister on her father's side left the home before Kayden went missing.
She was heading back to Colorado, when police reached her by cellphone in County Cedar, Iowa and was taken into custody at 5:30 a.m. by West Branch police for an open Texas warrant for fraud. Police in Iowa found baby clothing in the vehicle, but no sign of Kayden.
Kayden's father, Bruce Powell, 23, and Brianna's parents were also questioned about the missing baby.
Beloit Police Chief Steven J. Kopp says, Alassisting with the investigation were the City of Beloit Police Department, the Rock County Sheriff's Department, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, West Branch Police Department and the F.B.I..

Our Economic Plague Ship (Musical Tribute)

Long-time reader mab offers the following comment in this post:

I'm watching CNBC. What's the deal? The "experts" keep blaming our economic ills on the cruise ship Queen Elizabeth!

In my opinion, this really deserves its own Christmas ship musical tribute!

Sing along! You know the tune!

Out in the Harbor

Out in the harbor, cruise ship ills
In through the dust mask, doctor bills
Down with economies, it destroys
Spreading little bugs, with sick bellboys

Oh, no, no! Who could've known?
Oh, no, no! Who wouldn't groan?
Out in the harbor, sick, sick, sick
In through the dust mask, it's ick, ick, ick

First came the sickness of little Bill
Oh dear God ships make him ill
Gave him a virus to choke and wheeze
One that fevered him to high degrees

Oh, no, no! Who could've known?
Oh, no, no! Who wouldn't groan?
Out in the harbor, sick, sick, sick
In through the dust mask, it's ick, ick, ick

Next came the sickness of little Mitt
Have we ever seen so much vomit?
Here was some fluid for what he lacked
Also a drug some say acts like crack

Oh, no, no! Who could've known?
Oh, no, no! Who wouldn't groan?
Out in the harbor, sick, sick, sick
In through the dust mask, it's ick, ick, ick

No day is complete without at least a little gallows humor. Sigh.

The Fed's 10-1 Leverage Has Paid Off! (Musical Tribute)

The following chart compares the trillions of dollars the monetary base has grown (in blue) to the trillions of dollars household net worth has grown (in red) since the first quarter of 2009.

Each dollar the Fed spends gets us back ten! Why on earth is the Fed tapering the sure thing? We need even moar leverage! Not less!

Crazy Theory

Let's cash out $10.8 trillion of household net worth (just half of the gain), hand it to the Fed, and let them reinvest it for us! We'll get $108 trillion back! We can then use that money to pay off all our debts and still have plenty left over! Perhaps even enough for every man, woman, and child to retire!

Why hasn't anyone else thought of this? Genius!

December 17-18, 2013
Minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee

Participants were most concerned about the marginal cost of additional asset purchases arising from risks to financial stability, pointing out that a highly accommodative stance of monetary policy could provide an incentive for excessive risk-taking in the financial sector.

Oops. Please disregard my crazy theory above. It would seem that I was offering the very thing the Fed is most worried about. You have to admit that it seemed like a darned good theory on paper though. I just hadn't factored in any unintended consequences. In my defense, it's really easy to do once I went down the "excessive risk-taking" path (gambling $10.8 trillion on a "sure thing" would definitely qualify).

Jay Leno says goodbye

Deadline reports “I don’t like goodbyes – NBC does – but I don’t care for them,” an emotional Jay Lenosaid, kicking off a star-studded final broadcast show as host of The Tonight Show. “Tonight is our last show for real. I don’t need to be fired three times — I get the hint,” Leno joked to a friends-and-family studio audience as he ended his 22-year run Thursday night. It’s his second very-last-time-as-host — having been pushed aside in 2009 by NBC to make way for Conan O’Brien, who lasted seven months.

“I’ve got to tell you, the outpouring from people has really been touching. Anthony Weiner sent me a photo of his penis looking really sad.

fess up friday - the pink pagoda

I don't know about you but I feel we all need an Olympic medal for making it to the end of this week! But Friday is finally here and I've got goodies galore. First up, you can catch me over at Primitive & Proper taking part in Cassie's fun It's Eclectic series. Check it out here.

And also, what would a Friday be without a good Fess Up?! Today we've got one of my very favorite ladies, store and blog all rolled up into one - Jennifer from The Pink Pagoda. I'm lucky enough to have some of Jennifer's wonderful prints in my living room and I covet just about every single blue and white item she has in her shop. And on top of all of that style and talent, she is genuinely one of the nicest people I have (virtually) met.

So Jennifer, Fess Up!

TV at TPP

My family room pre-ORC.  Still looks somewhat the same, just different reflections in the TV and messier book stacks.

I adore Elizabeth's "Fess Up Friday" series.  What fun to read about everyone's idiosyncrasies!  Today, I'm confiding four things about TV at my house.

Before I begin the confessional, I'll say that since both Elizabeth and I have design blogs, I thought I'd include some photos that illustrate the tricky TV being handled well.

Lonny

First, I admit that I love TV.  I used to be kind of snobby about it and thought people should read instead of watching television (former English teacher of 10 years).  My, how things have changed.

As my 16 year old daughter has lots of extra-curricular activities that keep her busy, plus ridiculous amounts of homework, we aren't watching much TV as a family.

OKL

But, when we are watching, my daughter is heavily influencing the choices.

AD

Which leads me to the second thing I'm sharing about TV at my house.

HB

I did mention that my daughter's 16, right?  As a result, aesthetics are influencing our viewing.

That means we're watching Downton Abbey, Arrested Development, Castle, Sherlock, Jimmy Fallon, Idol, Parks and Rec, and White Collar with her.

The third thing that might surprise you is that I do not care for Chick TV.

And, that's happy for my husband.  He doesn't have to watch The Bachelorette and I don't have to watch sports. Very conveniently, we like the same TV.  Homeland, House of Cards, and Boardwalk Empire are some of our favorites.

Lastly, I'll admit that I partake in binge TV. Sometimes, an episode is so good that you just HAVE to watch the next one.  And then the next one, too.  Yikes.  DVDs, Netflix and DVRs make binge watching just too easy.  Some of the shows that are too addicting to stop after one episode are Damages, Dexter, Six Feet Under, The Killing, 30 Rock, and I could go on unfortunately.

Whew.  I feel much better after the "Fess Up."  Thanks for having me, Elizabeth!  Hopefully some of your readers can relate : )

I can totally relate! Especially since I'm counting down the days until the new House of Cards season starts next week! Thanks Jennifer for playing along today.

And one last bit of great news - Jennifer is up for best Design Blog Graphics and Presentation award in the Design Bloggers Conference Hall of Fame! Not too shabby! Please take a minute to click here and cast your vote. I know I've voted and I would love to see her win!!

Happy Weekend all!

Kerry Playing With Fire In Middle East ... J. D. Longstreet
Kerry Playing With Fire In Middle East
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

*******************

In a few days or a few weeks, the Obama Administration will present Israel and the so-called Palestinians with something referred to as a "framework agreement."

The diplomats, (diplomats = People paid to lie for their country) explain that it is called a framework because the eventual peace agreement would be built upon this agreement. In other words, it is the framework for the eventual peace agreement between Israel and the so-called Palestinians.

Uh-huh.

This "agreement" is bad for Israel and bad for the US.   Here's why:

Far from bringing peace to Israel and the so-called Palestinians, it could just as likely bring renewed fighting between the two and more trouble for the US.

In its arrogance, the Obama Administration wants this agreement signed before the end of the year (2014).  The ridiculousness of this is laughable. Once again, the US has amateurs at work defusing a bomb.

Already, Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, has declared that “it is not going to happen.” -- SOURCE: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/176924#.UvJNhPuGdlA

Let's take a look at the outlandish terms of the framework agreement.

"Kerry’s agreement mentions a Palestinian state with borders based on the 1949 Armistice lines and with land swaps between Israel and the PA. 75 to 80 percent of the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria would remain in their homes even after a permanent agreement."  -- SOURCE:  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/176924#.UvJNhPuGdlA

There is said to be a reference to the PA’s "incitement" against Israel and a reference to compensation for Jewish refugees who came from Arab countries.  Each side would recognize the other as a nation state. and the two sides would announce the end of the conflict.

From israelnationalnews.com we learn this:  "US Secretary of State John Kerry is about to present a plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) that will call for a phased Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria based on the 1949 lines, with "unprecedented" security arrangements in the strategic Jordan Valley, writes Thomas Friedman in the New York Times – one of the journalists considered most close to the Obama administration.

The Israeli withdrawal will not include certain settlement blocs, but Israel will compensate the Arab side for this with Israeli territory. The deal will call for “Palestine” to have a capital in Arab East Jerusalem and to recognize Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people. It will not include any right of return for Palestinian refugees into pre-1967 Israel, Friedman says."
-- SOURCE:
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/176854#.UvJUtvuGdlB

So, Kerry and Obama want to divide the city of Jerusalem ... AGAIN.  It is reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu adamantly rejects the division of the city of Jerusalem.

Oh, and Kerry's plan calls for Israeli troops to patrol the Jordan Valley for some years into the future.  As you would expect the so-called Palestinians adamantly reject that.

Netanyahu is walking on egg shells in even considering this "agreement."  It could easily tear apart his coalition.  Already, tension within the Israeli political community has been ratcheting upward for at least a week upon this writing.

On the other hand, if Netanyahu says no to the plan, then European nations could invoke a boycott on Israeli goods to "punish" Israel for not agreeing to the Obama/Kerry plan.  Yes.  This IS the same Europe where anti-Semitism runs rampant -- even today.
There is an excellent article entitled:  "White House Is Weeks Away From Imposing Middle East Peace Framework – What You Need To Know" at Prophecy News Watch that explains the "agreement" in much more detail.  We urge you to read it.  You'll find it at:  http://www.prophecynewswatch.com/2014/February03/032.html#Z17XsHQrWRjMF0za.99

Now, it is important that the world understand this ... neither side wants peace now.  Somehow, Kerry seems to have missed this tiny detail.  Come on, folks.  If either side truly wanted peace they could, and would, work it out between themselves without the meddling of the US.   They've done it three times in the past:  Peace treaty with Egypt, another with Jordan, and a mutual recognition deal between Israel and the PLO.  See what I mean?

The so-called Palestinian government is so divided as to be almost useless. There is Hamas ruling in Gaza, and Mahmoud Abbas, in charge of the government on the West Bank -- or what government there is there!  As a "non-member observer state," in the UN General Assembly, the so-called Palestinians are reported to be ready to take Israel to the International Criminal Court any day now.  Does this sound like a group ready to talk peace?  Hardly.

This is a war that has been raging since Abraham and his two sons walked the hills, valleys and seashores of what we call the Holy Land today. It is not about to be settled by April 30th, or even by the end of the year 2014.   In fact, we have every reason to believe that it will intensify touching off even more conflicts within, and without, the region leading, eventually, to World War III.

So, at the risk of bruising Mr. Kerry's pride and denting his arrogance, we can comfortable say that the "Framework Agreement" isn't worth the paper it is written upon.  But -- don't be surprised if in a few weeks we have another Neville Chamberlain moment with Kerry waving a piece of paper over his head shouting:  "Peace in or time!"  We never seem to learn, do we?

Saint Paul said:  "The way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes" (Romans 3:17–18)  That was about 2,000 years ago.  Not much has changed.

WEATHER WARFARE in progress across North America

*****THE ULTIMATE WEATHER WARNING*****

ARTIFICIAL ICE NUCLEATION for WEATHER MODIFICATION

What is going on with the weather?
  • Large amounts of cattle dying
  • Ice boulders in Lake Michigan
  • Unusual JET STREAM and STORM TRACKS completely out of phase
  • Massive Persistent Polar Air Mass
  • Extreme and unnatural weather conditions
  • California a CLIMATE SACRIFICE ZONE
Something is not right with this atmosphere

As some of you know I'm storm chaser David Casper who has appeared LIVE on The Weather Channel and various national networks while actively storm chasing from about 2007 though 2012.  Although I'm not an official accredited meteorologist I have studied weather as a pilot and air traffic controller for over 20 years and have enough understanding of these matters to do sufficient research regarding the rising concerns of weather modification that are being discussed of late.

I'm in the process of reviewing much of this at the present time and have elected not to come to conclusions about these chemtrails as I have never been briefed on some clandestine aerial operations in my 20 years as an air traffic controller in several of our major facilities across the U.S.A. including Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, and the Chicago area.

As a pilot also I have never been privy to any unusual clandestine operations either.  I have been retired for several years now which has resulted in being completely disconnected from my involvement in the National Airspace System and any of my former connections with air traffic operations has now ended nor do I remain current in any of these particular functions.

My main interest now is severe weather reporting and forecasting of which has also taken kind of a back seat due to the media no longer contracting with independent photo-journalists and storm chasers as myself who used to provide them with broadcast quality video services.

So as I stated above I am going to review these various and sundry weather conspiracies that are surfacing over the last several years now and are beginning to cause growing concern among the general public.

There was a particular day here where an Alberta Clipper like system came down and produced what I considered an unusual amount of snow for such a dry system.  The snow was also a very unusual powdery snow that accumulated about 6 to 7 inches and the composition of such was so unusual that it didn't even feel like real snow.  It was an incredible dry and fluffy snow that was very powdery like.  For some reason I didn't pay too much mind to it and was ignoring the situation but in retrospect it was unusual how it sublimed in below zero Fahrenheit temperatures and was gone within a day or so leaving very little recollection of what it really was.  Now I wish I would have checked into that a bit closer.

I did notice that the birds would attempt to land on the snow beneath the bird feeders only to sink into the snow like quick sand and disappear followed by intense flapping of their wings to escape from that entrapment and fly radically away to a nearby tree or bush and just sit there for a while.  It was very strange snow and it was mentioned briefly among friends and family.

There may indeed be some credibility to these reports as I have noticed these upper level dynamics to be incredibly cold especially seeing H925 and H850 temperatures the coldest I have ever seen on any weather map.  Also there has been more wind than normal with very strong surface winds wrapping around that large and persistent gyre that has become to be known as THE POLAR VORTEX.

I'll have more on this as I study it further:
