Another post from Portland, more exactly from the Chinese Garden. Despite being flanked with buildings and busy streets, the garden is a peaceful place. From the moment you step in, you forget about the busy life and get sunk in the culture and history that invite you to know more and more about China. This place energizes one's batteries for a long time.
I was wearing this H&M dress for the first time since las year when I bought it: This is just a first ! I will attend to this floral garment in this S/S again for sure.

Most Corrupt Government In History

Last year Rep. Darrell Issa retracted his statement that President Barack Obama was one of the most corrupt presidents in modern history, saying he should have parsed his words more carefully. \
Tuesday, the California Republican's more careful parsing apparently included declaring Obama's government the most corrupt in history.
"We are busy in Washington with a corrupt government, with a government that I said more than a year ago was perhaps -- because of the money, because of the amount of TARP and stimulus funds -- was going to be the most corrupt government in history, and it is proving to be that, just exactly that," Issa said in a Bloomberg television interview. "This money, at the American people's expense, going through the hands of political leaders, is in fact corrupting the process, whether it is Solyndra, or GSA, or a number of other scandals," said Issa, referring to the bankrupt solar firm that got a $535 million government loan guarantee and the $823,000 Las Vegas conference of the General Services Administration.
The comments echoed the earlier statement, which Issa took a fair amount of heat over. “Do I think the president is personally corrupt? No,” Issa said when he -- at least partially -- took back his remark made on Rush Limbaugh's radio show last year. “I should never have implied that or created that in a quick statement on a radio call-in.” U.S. presidential history includes things like the Watergate, Iran-Contra and Teapot Dome scandals. A number of previous scandals have included criminal convictions, but no such allegations have been made against the Obama administration,.
However, the GSA inspector general said he is investigating the possibility of bribery and kickbacks in the GSA case. Issa's office did not respond to a request for comment on whether the congressman, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, would amend his accusation. I'm having another monkey monkey underpants episode.
Between finishing the couch, trying to get inspired to finish the bedroom, children, jobs and the general merriment that is life, my brain has a hard time resting these days. Since our society apparently frowns on early morning cocktails (I should have worked at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce) I have to find alternative ways to let the stress out. This results in small projects, which results in more on the to-do list, which results in more stress. These are the days of our lives.
The newest example of this was over the weekend. I wanted to get something hung up in our bedroom so that it starts to feel more like a room and less like a prison on Locked Up Abroad. So I made my templates for everything, just like I did with the gallery wall, and all was progressing. Until I ran out of newspaper. No panic required though, I just used myMacGruber MacGyver skills and decided wrapping paper would work just as well.
(I'm cropping out most of the mess in this picture btw. I'm all for keeping it real, but some people might be eating.)
After hanging the wrapping paper, my ubiquitous and ever helpful 4-year-old said "Oh mommy, I really love these stripes. These are good colors."
While I agree they are good colors for something else, not so much for my room. However, the longer that stayed on the wall (we're talking minutes here) the more I kept thinking 'I like this idea'.
Now I've framed wrapping paper many times before. Hell, I even tape it to my mantel at christmas. But this time I was thinking a little different. Something longer. Possibly a way to introduce more pattern into the room.
Something clicked (not my jaw this time) and just like that, it became my mission to find this 'something'. I found a few options the next day and temporarily taped them up to see what I thought.
Not bad.
My husband liked it as well and said, "you know what would be cool is if it went all the way to the ceiling and down to the floor" (he'll be getting an extra present on his birthday this year).
Then, yesterday I saw this picture on Chinoiserie Chic
Its a sign.
I'm thinking I'm on the right track here people. Or at least a track. Which is a big improvement from the muddy gravel nothing I was on before. Inspiration is a'rising again. I better get something done before it disappears.

When Virginia Fike stepped into the OldeStone Truck Stop & Restaurant in Clear Brook, Va., to run some errands earlier this month, she decided on a whim to buy two lottery tickets. Intending initially to buy one Powerball and one Mega Millions ticket,
Fike picked the same set of numbers for both: 5-13-17-20-30. "I picked numbers based on my parents’ anniversary and their ages at that time, divided by the year they were married," Fike told the Journal, adding that she loves "jackpot games" and plays when she "can afford it". When Fike had paid for the tickets, she realized that she had mistakenly bought two Powerball tickets instead. "I was like, 'If I win, I win twice'…so I just went ahead and took the tickets,"
Fike told the Northern Virginia Daily. Incredibly, the 44-year-old from Berryville, Va., was right on the money. Reaping two times the luck thanks to her fortuitous error, Fike matched every number except the Powerball and clinched the $1 million prize twice -- becoming the first person in Virginia to win two $1 million Powerball lottery prizes in the same lottery drawing, the Virginia Lottery reports.
Virginia's newest millionaire, who claimed $1.4 million after taxes last Friday, said she is still reeling from the news. "Really it still just hasn't sunk in," Fike told the Journal. "It feels good but it's still just like right, you know somebody's going to pinch me and I'm going to wake up and this'll all be a dream."
The outdoor enthusiast and devoted daughter told the Northern Virginia Daily that she is looking forward to taking care of her aging parents and paying some bills.

River walk-Portland-
A first post from my trip in Portland:) we spent a wonderful time with our dear friend, Roxana, who showed us the most important's touristic points in Portland. I'm declaring myself in love with this city for so many reasons. Somehow, it reminds me of Europe. The ability to walk a lot, see great exhibits at art museum, the outdoor gardens, the shops... everything together creates the perfect atmosphere that I have been missing for so long.
Here are some photos from the river walk, where Bogdan and I, we enjoyed in one of these days. I worn a very simple outfit with a fuzzy sweater( backwards again), and skinny jeans.

What is the DNS Changer Malware?
On November 8, the FBI, the NASA-OIG and Estonian police arrested several cyber criminals in “Operation Ghost Click”. The criminals operated under the company name “Rove Digital”, and distributed DNS changing viruses, variously known as TDSS, Alureon, TidServ and TDL4 viruses. You can read more about the arrest of the Rove Digital principals here, and in the FBI Press Release.
What does the DNS Changer Malware do?
The botnet operated by Rove Digital altered user DNS settings, pointing victims to malicious DNS in data centers in Estonia, New York, and Chicago. The malicious DNS servers would give fake, malicious answers, altering user searches, and promoting fake and dangerous products. Because every web search starts with DNS, the malware showed users an altered version of the Internet.
Under a court order, expiring July 9, the Internet Systems Consortium is operating replacement DNS servers for the Rove Digital network. This will allow affected networks time to identify infected hosts, and avoid sudden disruption of services to victim machines.

Purpose
This product provides information and mitigation advice to IT Security Specialists and potential victims of DNSChanger malware. Its goal is to assist with the detection and mitigation of the risks of such malware.
Assessment
Recently, the FBI uncovered a network of Domain Name System (DNS) servers controlled by cyber criminals. The FBI worked in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies and the cyber security community to disable these malicious DNS servers. Unfortunately, this malicious infrastructure has been used for over 3 years to steal personal information from millions of people around the world. Cyber criminals managed to infect these users'computers with malicious code that changes the users' DNS configurations to forward all their web content requests to a rogue DNS rather than a legitimate one. As DNS is necessary for most internet activities, the FBI implemented a plan for a trusted private-sector, non-government entity to operate and maintain a clean DNS server for the infected victims until they can be identified and notified. The IP addresses of potentially affected systems will be provided to the appropriate ISP and Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) for victim notification.

Under the U.S. District Court Order currently in place, Internet Systems Consortium (ISC, http://www.isc.org/) was authorized to install, monitor and administer replacement DNS for the victims until the 8 March 2012. At this date, it is expected that victims from the DNSChanger malware associated with this operation could lose Internet connectivity, because DNS is necessary for common use.
An extension request has been submitted and is pending approval before the U.S. Court for ISC to operate replacement DNS until 9 July 2012, which is referenced at:
