Man Buys House Next To Ex-Wife, Erects Middle Finger Statue (PHOTO)

The middle-finger statue was brought to the world's attention, according to Gawker,by Lenka Tuohy, the daughter of Markovitz's ex.
"[I]t's hard for me to enjoy my baths now because my fav tub is in my moms bathroom which faces out towards tif and alans house," Tuohy wrote in a tweet that is no longer available.
Markovitz who, BuzzFeed reports, is a strip club owner and author of "Topless Prophet: The True Story of America’s Most Successful Gentleman’s Club Entrepreneur," said his beef is not with his ex, but with her new lover.
Deadline Detroit reports that, according to Markovitz, his ex had an affair with the man she's now cohabiting with.
"I'm so over her," Markovitz said. "This is about him. This is about him not being a man."
Markovitz told MyFox Detroit he never meant for his statue to make headlines.

Illegal Alien Hunt On UT-Austin Campus Cancelled By Republican Conservative Student Group

Lorenzo V. Garcia

Republican conservative student group at the University of Texas-Austin campus cancelled its illegal alien hunt on campus after it sparks controversy and protests.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 19, 2013

Austin, Texas - On Tuesday, Lorenzo V. Garcia, President of the Young Conservatives of Texas-University of Texas-Austin (YCTUTA) student group announced that they have cancelled their Wednesday's three hour "Catch An Illegal Immigrant" hunt on campus. Garcia cited that the group feared retaliation from the university administration and a safety concern for those student volunteers who wanted to participate. At least 40 students had volunteered to participate in Wednesday's event, according to Garcia.
Garcia's group had posted on their Facebook page that several Latino students would be walking around on campus with signs on saying "Illegal Immigrant" and any student who takes one of them to the YCT table at the West Mall would get a $25 gift certificate.
Some opponents of the YCT event alleged Garcia and his student conservative group were engaging in bigotry and promoting hatred on campus. Garcia on the contrary was trying to bring focus and discussions among the student campus population on today's broken immigration system, but the YCT event was created in poor taste and disregarded the backlash it would create.
Even conservative Republicans, state elected officials, university administrators and other student campus groups criticized the YCT's poor judgement to engage in type of event.

Bail Set For Zimmerman, Must Not Possess Weapons And Keep Away From Scheibe

George Zimmerman

A judge set a $9,000 bail for Zimmerman who was charged with domestic aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief.

November 19, 2013

Apopka, FL - On Tuesday, a Florida judge set a $9,000 bail for George Zimmerman, 30, who was arrested and charged on Monday with domestic aggravated assault, domestic battery and criminal mischief in Seminole County. The Seminole County judge also ordered Zimmerman not to have contact with his girlfriend Samantha Scheibe who call authorities and accused him of domestic abuse. He was place on electronic monitoring and must not possess any weapons or ammunition.
It was learned that last week, Zimmerman had attempted to choke Scheibe, but she failed to call police.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) reported on Monday that at around 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call about a disturbance in the 1300 block of Topfield Court in Apopka, at the home of George Zimmerman's girlfriend, Scheibe. Scheibe advised that she and George Zimmerman just had a verbal altercation that resulted in him breaking a glass table in the living room, retrieving a shotgun, and pointing it at her. Scheibe was able to get to the front of the house and call 911. As she approached the door, he ultimately pushed Scheibe out and locked the door behind her. He then barricaded the door with several pieces of small furniture.
Scheibe was not injured and no one else was at the home. When deputies arrived on scene they used her house key to enter and were able to push through the items behind the door. Zimmerman was not armed when deputies entered the home. He surrendered without further incident and was transported to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility (JEPCF) at approximately 1 p.m. He was charged with domestic battery, domestic aggravated assault and criminal mischief, according to the SCSO.
Zimmerman was acquitted in July for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17.

Do Social Security and Medicare show that Obamacare can be successful?

Do Social Security and Medicare show that Obamacare can be successful?

The loyal defenders of President Barack Obama and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) keep pointing to Social Security and Medicare as examples of successful government programs whenever someone points out that government doesn’t do anything very well. The nearly perfect record of dismal performance in federal programs is a key reason that critics doubt that the massively flawed rollout of health insurance reform lovingly referred to as “Obamacare” will eventually turn into a success.

Liberal commentator Juan Williams proudly notes how “popular” both Social Security and Medicare are, citing them as having received 70 percent support among those asked whether they like the programs or not. But just because lots of people like a given federal program doesn’t mean it is a beneficial or successful program.

It is certainly true that Social Security and Medicare are very popular and proponents vigorously oppose balancing the budgets of the two programs by reducing benefits. But, again, by the “popularity” standard, programs that create dependency like welfare, food stamps, and free cell phones are successes, too.

However, reality paints a far different, and much less rosy picture of Social Security and Medicare.

These programs are not giveaways funded by taxpayers, they are funded primarily by payroll taxes on employers and the employees who benefit from them. Even so, because of mismanagement and a failure to adapt to changes in demographics, both programs are broken and broke, running annual deficits.

This is the typical sort of success we find in “successful” government programs, and we have to wonder if there isn’t a better solution to most problems the government thinks it can solve. And the answer is, “yes, there is.” The private sector can do it better, as evidenced by multitudes of successes over our 230-plus-year history.

What too often happens is that when government sees the private sector not completely solving a problem, it thinks it can do better, and a new federal program is born. But the ultimate result is that the federal government does no better at trying to solve the problem than the private sector, and often does much worse.

In contrast to the self-funding process involving the beneficiaries of Social Security and Medicare, other programs give handouts to both those who need help and to those who really don’t need it, and these recipients pay little or nothing in taxes to support the giveaways.

These programs are rife with waste, fraud, and abuse, because government does not manage them efficiently. You can make a very good argument that government is inherently unable to manage these expansive programs competently.

Giving people money is one of the first priorities of politicians; it’s how they buy popularity, which translates to votes.

But as examples go, Social Security and Medicare, while intended to be self-sustaining without support from general tax revenue, are not examples of good government programs because they have been mismanaged and neglected.

Social Security began running a deficit in 2010, will run a deficit near $75 billion this year and the projected deficit will reach $344 billion in 2035 if something isn’t done. Social Security is beginning to fail in its ability to take care of seniors because government has failed to properly operate the program.

A panel determines Medicare reimbursements, a panel that meets in secret and relies heavily on the recommendations of the American Medical Association. Many doctors already do not treat Medicare patients because the low reimbursements don’t cover costs. Medicare providers have to balance low Medicare payments by shifting lost dollars to insured patients.

So that’s a brief glimpse into Juan Williams’ idea of successful government programs. Is this what the ACA also promises, or will it somehow be different?

Even if we believe the ACA is a good idea, even if it had been competently designed and implemented, and even if we overlook the disgraceful manner in which it was created and jammed through Congress before being read by the Democrats who enacted it, it is still a government program that supposes it will be more effective at running 18 percent of the nation’s economy, and one of the most important personal concerns Americans have, than the private sector.

And now $716 billion will be taken out of Medicare to fund Obamacare, meaning reimbursements and senior care will suffer, or the deficit will increase.

Obamacare attempts to do by force what Republicans attempted to do by choice through initiatives focused on the problem areas of the then-current system, and Democrats opposed and defeated those efforts.

Despite Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts’ phantasmagoric redefining the fines imposed by Obamacare as taxes, the U.S. Constitution did not intend for, and does not authorize government to commandeer one-sixth of the economy.

Those who think government is the answer to everything need to remember that the only reason there is a government of the United States of America is because the people – remember “of the people, by the people, and for the people?” – created it by assigning government limited powers in certain specific areas.

It is perverse in the extreme for the people now to be controlled by that which they voluntarily created.

Rob Ford Makes The NY Times

As the Rob Ford scandal escalated from allegations of crack use to police surveillanceto crack confirmation and beyond, The New York Times has been watching.
But after Ford was stripped of most of his powers and Toronto city council slid into chaos, Times editors decided to elevate the embattled mayor to front page news.
So after years of dominating headlines in Toronto and across Canada, Ford has finally made the big-time. Not to mention the international exposure thanks to interviews with CNNFox News and NBC.

McFly, its not rocket science, he's not a King.

McFly, its not rocket science, he's not a King.
Yet Obama Makes Decree and a few people here and there say ... "I'm not sure he can do that?"

Even Howard Dean used that line... That is beyond my comprehension, how can anyone be unsure? He is not a king, he can not make a decree... and hardly a peep from the mice farm ...just more Republicans signing up for replacement at the ballot box as far as I am concerned.

Finally I found some sanity ... in Nebraska... and I think this guy does a damn fine job putting truth to power. '

Stolen Or Fraudulent Use Of Social Security Numbers For Employment To Be Blocked By E-Verify

Millions of undocumented immigrants using false identities to lose jobs in U.S. through E-Verify system gov't claims.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 19, 2013

Washington, D.C. - On Monday, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the E-Verify program can now identify fraudulent use of Social Security numbers (SSNs). The E-Verify system will operate "by detecting and preventing potential fraudulent use of SSNs to gain work authorization. An employer, for example, may enter information into E-Verify that appears valid – such as a matching name, date of birth, and SSN – but was in fact stolen, borrowed or purchased from another individual. This new safeguard now enables USCIS to lock a SSN that appears to have been misused, protecting it from further potential misuse in E-Verify."
If an employee attempts to use a locked SSN, E-Verify will generate a "Tentative Nonconfirmation" (TNC). The employee receiving the TNC will have the opportunity to contest the finding at a local Social Security Administration (SSA) field office. If an SSA field officer confirms the employee's identity correctly matches the SSN, the TNC will be converted to "Employment Authorized" status in E-Verify. Employees who successfully confirm their identities are encouraged to call USCIS so they can learn more about available resources on identity theft and fraud prevention, according to the USCIS.

It's Pitchfork And Torch Time! ... J. D. Longstreet

It's Pitchfork And Torch Time! ... J. D. Longstreet
It's Pitchfork And Torch Time!
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

**************

The Frankenstein monster is loosed on the land and the authorities are helpless to do anything about it.  It's the point in the movie where the peasants grab their pitchforks and scythes, hay rakes, and whatever they can lay their hands on, light their torches and pour into the streets determined to take matters into their own hands and rectify that which is out of whack.

And BOY! is it out of whack!

America made a huge mistake in 2008 and then compounded that error by doubling down and reelecting Obama in 2012.  It is a mistake not likely to be made again for a generation at least.  The damage done to America will take at least that long to undo.

Did you ever wonder how democrats manage to elect such brilliant presidents?  I mean, they're all geniuses!   By the same token republicans seem always to elect the dumbest human alive to be president.  Ever notice that?

For instance:

Jimmy Carter, democrat = genius.

Ronald Reagan, republican = dumb as a post.

See how that works?  It is possible because with one single exception the political left owns the mainstream media in America.

The left has always been far more willing to use lies, deceit, and subterfuge than the political right.  The left knows the value of slanted propaganda and the use of misinformation to keep the electorate in the dark or misinformed -- as far as that is possible. Currently, the Benghazi Affair is an excellent example of the mainstream media covering up for the political left's president.  It is quite possible we will never learn the whole truth of what happened that night in Benghazi.  If we do, it will likely come from some off-shore news or investigatory  organization.

Currently, America enjoys the leadership of a man so brilliant he could easily become King of the Universe.  In fact, he SHOULD be!

Don't believe me?  Well, consider this:  "David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, quotes (Valerie) Jarrett in his biography of Obama, The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama, published in 2010. “‘I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary,” stated Jarrett. “He knows exactly how smart he is.... He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never been challenged intellectually.... He's been bored to death his whole life. He's just too talented to do what ordinary people do." SOURCE:  http://www.thenewamerican.com/reviews/opinion/item/16969-is-president-barack-obama-too-smart-to-do-the-job

See what I mean?  Sorta makes you weak in the knees, what?  On the other hand, it sorta makes me sick to my stomach.

It makes one wonder if this is the same man who seems to know absolutely nothing about anything when the ship hits the sand as it is wont to do from time to time.

Is this the man who gave America Obamacare -- the same man who promised we could keep our old insurance if we liked it and our doctors if we also liked them?  Is this the man who seems to find it so easy to lie to America even when the truth would be easier? Is this the man whose policies are so good for America they must be mandatory?

The description Ms. Jarrett gave is not a description of a man, but the description of a god!  Not since the Caesars of Rome have gods ruled a great nation such as the United States of America.  It would behoove us, I think, to consider how the great Roman Empire ended -- even with self-proclaimed gods at the helm.
Now that Obamacare has given America a much needed slap across the chops, we suggest it is time to step, back, take a deep breath, and objectively consider the mess we have allowed to happen to our country.  We further suggest we begin the process, immediately, to clean up the mess and set our country aright.

We can begin with cleaning the US Senate of the Marxists and progressive democrats next November.  It is at their doorstep, and their doorstep alone, that this Obamacare disaster can be laid.  They did this to you, to America.

So grab your pitchfork and torch and head for the streets and proclaim your intention and determination to maintain your freedom as an American.

Still Stuck in ZIRP?

Still stuck in ZIRP.

Big shocker. Where does the time go?

The good news is that we're making good progress on getting back to the trend line and that the Japanese have been studying this monetary problem for more than two decades (ever since their epic housing bust).

The bad news is that the trend line continues to come down to meet us, the Japanese are still stuck, and we are too more than likely. Even if we were to miraculously temporarily extract ourselves, then we'd probably just get stuck even more severely in the aftermath of the next recession.

Many talk about how Janet Yellen will offer easy money in an attempt to solve our long-term structural problems. They aren't factoring in the difficulty of the job though. We need someone who can wake up with a positive attitude each and every morning and exclaim with the utmost confidence, "Let's keep interest rates at zero and see what happens next!"

Nothing but good things from here! I assure you!

Zuckerberg's FWD.us Launched Spanish And English TV Videos In Favor For 2013 Immigration Reform

Zuckerberg backup group FWD dot us has launched a TV video "We Wait" advertising campaign in Spanish and English to push for a U.S. House floor vote on an immigration reform bill.

November 18, 2013

U.S.A. - On Monday, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook and one of the leading members of FWD dot us announced that several TV videos have been launched as an attempt to push an immigration reform bill into the U.S. House of Representatives floor for a vote before the year expires. Only nines day are left before the House ends its 113th legislative session for 2013.
One video was released in Spanish and the other in English.
Recently, U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has made it clear that there will be no conference with the U.S. Senate on immigration reform for the remaining of the House session. Boehner's decision not to deal with immigration reform for the remaining of the House session makes FWD dot us ads meaningless, but a costly campaign that is destine to go down the drain as the clock ticks away to the last minute that would automatically expire the U.S. Senate's version of immigration reform that was past in June.
Most likely, the immigration reform issue will be a dead issue for the next six years, which would actually increase the deportation of undocumented immigrants by at least 5M to 6M in less than a decade.

Dickerson-Hendricks Charged For Resisting Arrested At Children's Hospital

Ashanti Dickerson-Hendricks

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. says, there was a breakdown of law enforcement communications between the Milwaukee Police Department and his department, including the Wauwatosa Police Department and the Children's Hospital administration and security.

By H. Nelson Goodson
November 18, 2013

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Ashanti Dickerson-Anderson, 22, was charged with two felony counts for bail jumping, one count for felon possession of a firearm and one count for obstructing and resisting an officer. If convicted, Hendricks is facing up to 23 years in prison, according to court records.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. told Fox6Now, that he wants the incident at the hospital investigated. He strongly believed that a breakdown of communications occurred between the Milwaukee Police Department who first responded to take Hendricks into custody and his department, including others. Sheriff Clarke claims that his department has officers at the hospital and they weren't notified of an attempted arrest of Hendricks by Milwaukee police. Also left out of the law enforcement communications were the Wauwatosa Police Department and both the administrators and security at the hospital who weren't notified that Milwaukee police were trying to arrest Hendricks who was believed armed and was wanted on a felony warrant.
Clarke said, a call came in that there was an "active shooter" and not a call that "officers need backup, shots fired," which each call would have been handled differently. He wants answers, to why there was a breakdown of law enforcement communications at the Children's Hospital incident, according to Fox6Now.
Clarke confirmed, that in Milwaukee County alone there are 10,000  active warrants.
Last week, Hendricks was taken into custody after he grabbed a two month old infant inside the Newborn Progressive Care Unit on the 7th floor of the Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. He was visiting and holding his baby when Milwaukee Police Officers Acosta and Thompson attempted to serve a warrant at the neo-natal premature care unit. Police say, they got a tip from a woman that Hendricks was at the hospital visiting his only child and that he was currently wanted and possibly armed.
Just before noon Officer's Acosta and Thompson were dispatched to take him into custody. The baby's mother apparently believed Hendricks was going to kill his child. But, Hendricks father told reporters that the infant was his son's only child and wouldn't harm him.
The officers arrived at the hospital unit and Officer Acosta told Hendricks that he had a warrant and was under arrest. Hendricks was holding his baby and seemed to cooperate with police. He put down his child and then darted out of the unit.
Hendricks then pulled out a weapon when cornered in a nearby hallway. Hendricks pointed a .40 Cal. Glock at both Acosta and Thompson and failed to lower his weapon when ordered by the officers to do so. Milwaukee Police Officer Acosta fired several shots striking Hendricks in the arm and wrist. Hendricks eventually dropped the weapon.
Hendricks was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment and was placed in custody. He was wanted on a felony conviction warrant for possession of a weapon by a felon, eluding police and a drug charge, according to court records. Hendricks failed to show up for his sentencing several weeks ago and a warrant was issued.
Milwaukee police are being criticized about their attempt to take Hendricks into custody inside the Children's Hospital by Hendricks family members. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, that it "was not a situation where a guy came in to shoot somebody."
Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn defended the action taken by his officers who were serving a warrant at the newborn Children's Hospital unit. An investigation had been initiated to see, if Milwaukee police acted properly to arrest Hendricks at the Children's Hospital.
Officers from Wauwatosa Police Department and deputies from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office also responded to the incident. The Children's Hospital was locked down for nearly several hours, according to police.

56% Say Government Not Responsible For Healthcare Coverage...

by: Les Carpenter
Rational Nation USA
Liberty -vs- Tyranny

Could there be a problem with the Obama administration and it salesmanship? I find it odd that the years immediately preceding Obama's presidency support was much higher for government involvement in healthcare.

Or, could it be the result of incessant hammering away by republicans against ObamaCare since 2009?

GALLUP - The most recent data were collected in Gallup's annual Health and Healthcare poll, conducted Nov. 7-10. The percentage of U.S. adults who said it is the federal government's responsibility to ensure all Americans have healthcare coverage peaked at 69% in 2006. Attitudes began to shift significantly in 2007, and continued to change through the time President Barack Obama took office in 2009. Americans who feel healthcare coverage is not the federal government's responsibility have been in the clear majority the past two years.

Most Republicans Now View Ensuring Healthcare Coverage as Outside Government Purview

Attitudes across all three partisan groups have shifted away from the view that ensuring healthcare coverage is a proper role of government, but most significantly among Republicans and independents. In September 2000, 53% of Republicans believed the government should not be responsible for ensuring all Americans had health coverage; today, 86% feel that way, an increase of 33 percentage points in 13 years. Over the same period, the percentage of Republicans believing the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all has fallen from 42% to 12%.

Fifty-five percent of independents currently say the government should not be involved with healthcare -- an increase of 28 points since 2000.

The percentage of Democrats who hold this view is now 30%, its highest level since Gallup first asked the question and an 11-point increase since 2000 -- with the largest change in opinion occurring between 2006 and 2008. [Read More]

As seen in the second chart, the first cracks in the furniture dam began to form just about the time that the long-term exponential trend for job growth began to fail. In my opinion, this is not a coincidence. This is not a short-term cyclical problem. This is a long-term structural problem. The housing bust combined with rapidly rising oil prices just added insult to injury.

Weak job growth. Weak demand. Weak pricing. Weak recovery.

Zimmerman In The News Again...

Zimmerman In The News Again...
by: Les Carpenter
Rational Nation USA
Liberty -vs- Tyranny

Zimmerman, 30, is the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer who was acquitted in July on a charge that he murdered 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year.

So, here we are. George Zimmerman AGAIN involved in inappropriate and what could have been AGAIN deadly activity. Is this man just dumb, or is he mentally unstable, and severely so?

Trayvon Martin is dead from a gunshot fired by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is in custody following a domestic dispute with Samantha Scheibe before allegedly pointing a shotgun at her head and asking her if she really wanted to call the police.

Is anybody else thinking maybe society should lock the dude up and throw away the keys this time?

Orlando Sentinel - George Zimmerman was arrested on domestic violence charges Monday after pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, breaking a table and pushing her out of her Seminole County home, deputies said.

Zimmerman is being held without bail at the Seminole County Jail, charged with aggravated assault with a weapon — a felony — domestic violence battery and criminal mischief.

Deputies received a call from 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe around 12:30 p.m. Monday and when they responded to the home three minutes later, Zimmerman was there and was not armed

Zimmerman was arrested and booked, said Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

Lemma said Scheibe told deputies that Zimmerman pointed a shotgun at her Scheibe. He also broke a table, pushed her out of the home and barricaded the door with furniture.

Zimmerman offered no resistance when he was taken into custody, Lemma said. Scheibe did not suffer any injuries, he said.

"She was concerned for her safety, certainly from having the weapon pointed at her," Lemma said.

According to an arrest report released late Monday, Schibe called police after she and Zimmerman got into a "verbal dispute," at her home on Topfield Court in western Seminole County. She asked Zimmerman to leave, and he "began packing his items, which included a Shotgun and a AR Assault Rifle," the report said.

When Scheibe told Zimmerman that she was calling the police, he pointed the shotgun at her "and asked her if she really wanted to do that," according to the report.

Lemma said that if a judge decides to grant Zimmerman bond, the Sheriff's Office has asked that he be placed on electronic monitoring.

"This is an additional step we ask for in every domestic violence case in Seminole County," Lemma said.

Lemma said deputies are seeking a search warrant so they can gain entry into the home, where he said Zimmerman and Scheibe appear to have been living together for several months. {Read More}

Perhaps one shouldn't jump the gun (pun intended)and pass judgement, however given his past and what the nation knows about this guy it is certainly hard not to.

Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, just after 10:00 a.m., a blonde woman was seen crossing the street near the Milwaukee County Courthouse carrying a child upside down while  crossing the street. Attorney Cole White who witnessed the incident managed to take the photo while the woman is walking to a black Kia vehicle.
White posted on his Facebook (FB) account, that the woman smashed the child's "head into the car and slapped her."
Attorney White attempted to aid the child, but the woman got into the Kia vehicle with a male driver. They then sped away, but White was able to get a license plate number (263-UBT).
When White was contacted by Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA), White said, that he was just walking into a police station to file a complaint.
Afterwards White stated on FB, "Yes, baby/toddler upside down. She shoved the little girls face into the side of the car, threw her into the car, started to hit the kid. That's when I started running toward them and she dove in and they sped off. I just got done at District 1. Who knows if anything will come of it, because the plate on the vehicle is unregistered/expired...stolen."
Authorities are reviewing surveillance video at the courthouse in an attempt to identify the woman.
No information is available about the child's welfare.

Backlash over changes in flood insurance

A complex new federal insurance law is having so many unintended consequences that some of its original sponsors and backers are now trying to delay it.

It's not the Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Please.

Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Andrei... you've lost another submarine?

Malinvestment

Austrian economists such as Nobel laureate F. A. Hayek advocate the idea that malinvestment occurs due to the combination of fractional reserve banking and artificially low interest rates misleading relative price signals which eventually necessitate a corrective contraction—a boom followed by a bust.

Is Obama The Last Black American President? ... J. D. Longstreet

Is Obama The Last Black American President? ... J. D. Longstreet
Is Obama The Last Black American President?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

***************

Obama is, in fact, America's first black President, but he may well be America's LAST black President.

Why?

Racism.

No, I don't mean the practice of racism, I mean, instead, the CLAIM of racism.

We've had 5 years of abject failure by the Obama Administration and a refusal by the democrats to take responsibility for the crashing and burning of their progressive agenda.  They continually blame racism for Obama's failure.

If one even disagrees with Obama's direction, he/she is promptly called a racist.

Well, we are sick of it.  We have had it up the the gunwales and then some.  So, we're not going there again, for a very long time, if ever.

Look.  We gave it a chance.  In fact, America bent over backwards to accommodate a black president.  Many of us think, myself included, we bent way too far.

Obama's Administration was to have been a "feel good" presidency for the political left.  They could point to a black man in the White House with vest busting pride and stroke each other over their open-mindedness and their diversity and all the leftist hogwash they regularly spew through the left wing propagandists in the mainstream media.

On inauguration day, 2009, they immediately circled the wagons around Obama with the intention of defending him ... no matter what.

Well, it has now been five very long years of "no matter what."  Yes, they are  STILL defending him, but they have grown weary, and their jobs are now endangered as a result of their unquestioning loyalty to an obvious Marxist president.  The jobs of the press corp are not so much endangered as are the jobs of the democratic legislators in the Congress.

The press can bleed readers and subscribers for a fairly long time before having to cut their losses.  Politicians can't bleed voters in like manner.  In the past couple of weeks the democrats have been hemorrhaging voters.  Thus their throat constricting fear.

As Election 2014 hoists itself over the horizon, panic has seized the hearts of many, if not most, of the democrats in the US Senate and the House. With good reason.

Americans are fed up.

It takes a lot to stoke the spark of rebelliousness in Americans.  We put up with Great Britain a long while before rising up and throwing off the king's yoke.  Once the American passion for freedom has been fanned into a flame it soon grows into a firestorm.

The democrats are staring down the barrel of a fiery maelstrom straight out of Hell itself ... and they know it!

Those on the right -- AND the left -- no longer feel constrained and are speaking boldly against America's first black President's lies and broken promises, promises not made in good faith to the American people.

In the past few days as I watched and listened to the democrats railing against their very own Obamacare law, William Shakespeare's words as spoken by Hamlet's mother, Queen Gertrude, rolled through my consciousness: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." (Hamlet, act III, scene II)  The democrats words sound hollow and insincere as did the words of the Player Queen to whom Hamlet's mother was referring.

One must wonder how all this sniping and back-biting -- and a few flat-out frontal attacks by those who have spent the greater part of the past five years defending him must feel to our deeply narcissistic leader.  Obama's skin may be black, but it is seriously and legendarily thin.

Obama and his supporters would do well to remember that no matter what they may call it, this is NOT racism.  It is POLITICS and it is a bruising, bitter, blood sport when played in the American political arena.

Black politicians, especially those interested in running for the highest office in the land, should learn that as long as they have coattails their fellow politicians (of the same political persuasion) will happily ride them to acclaim and even victory.  BUT -- stumble so that it reflects badly upon them and they will happily hang you with those very same coattails and leave you swinging to and fro in the wind.  Mr. Obama has to be feeling the falling away of the many layers of protective insulation he has enjoyed for five years now.  It cannot be a pleasurable feeling.

So, our advice to any black politician considering running for President of the United States:  insist that your followers, your supporters, your entourage, never allow the word racism to pass their lips.  Americans having endured eight years of that lame excuse will not even allow the shadow of that politician to fall upon them.

As I said above -- we've had it with being slammed by accusations of racism when it is noting more than good ole American politics.

Employment Gone Wild v.2

The following chart shows the year over year employment growth as seen in the average of the government's establishment and household surveys.

I have added two 2nd order polynomial trend lines for your consideration. Both use data points that start from the trough to the point that the growth first turns negative. Note that both polynomials currently have the same 0.93 correlation.

Although history cannot often accurately predict the future, I do think those who argue that employment growth is about to pick up might not be wrong. I think downward is the most likely direction though, for what that's worth.

Just opinions. This is not investment advice.

Employment Gone Wild

The line in black shows that 2.3 million jobs were added over the past year. This data comes from the government's establishment survey that uses a birth-death model. This model has been shown to be wildly inaccurate during recessions.

The line in red shows that there are 0.2 million more people employed over the past year. This data comes from the government's household survey that does not use a birth-death model. Although this data can be noisy, no additional inaccuracies should be present during recessions due to a faulty assumption model.

As seen in the chart, these two surveys have been wildly diverging over the past year. The former says we're doing okay and the latter says we're doing terrible. What could account for all this bewilderment? Let us hope it isn't because we're entering another recession just in time for the holiday season. Seriously.

Keep in mind that you cannot see some of the past wild divergences in the chart all that clearly. Using the power of hindsight, the government revised them away! It didn't exactly help high margin debt stock market investors who were staring at the payroll data at the time though. It might not help them now either. Just a thought!

This is not investment advice.

Liberty -vs-Tyranny

Well there are some, the faithful, that continue to believe that President Barack Hussein Obama is one of the best presidents ever.

Rather than pontificating on the obvious counter reasons why he is not, I think it best to put up the list by
Matthew Lynch, Ed.D for you to consider and then decide for yourself whether or not Dr. Lynch is indeed correct.

He is for The People.

He is for civil rights.

He is for one race -the human race.

He is for a healthcare system that brings hope and healing to the hurting.

He is for the middle class.

He is for women's rights.

He is for doing away with pomp and circumstance.

He is for the environment.

He is for veterans.

He is for peace.

He is for education.

He is for entertaining the masses.

Okay, I know, I know. But before dismissing out of hand (or laughing) go HERE and get to the meat and justification for Dr. Lynch's one of the best presidents evah list.

It's About Time...

Liberty -vs- Tyranny

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid spoke to the press on the vote to limit filibusters on presidential nominees on Capitol Hill on Thursday in Washington.

Hot Damn! I never really held with much of what ole Senator Harry Reid was pushing (most of it was snake oil) but on the Filibuster change I just gotta give the dude credit. He is spot on with using the nuclear option and precipitating the change of the rules of the Senate with regard to the Filibuster and the "super majority" BS. Remember folks (especially those inclined to power) the the sword of change and the benefits thereof work both ways.

Kudos to Senator Harry Reid on this one. When somebody gets it right for a change it is fitting they receive the acknowledgement for a job well done.

WASHINGTON — The curtailment of the filibuster, probably the most well-known aspect of the Senate in popular culture, came in a politically charged vote Thursday that had been years in the making. It will have significant ramifications for the Senate, as well as for President Obama and future presidents.

The decision represents a new curb on the Senate’s constitutional power of “advice and consent,” a power that Democrats said Republicans had been abusing in their determination to deny Mr. Obama his choices for the federal bench and high-level administration offices. Under the action precipitated by Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, opponents will no longer be able to require the majority to produce 60 votes to advance a judicial or executive branch nomination short of the Supreme Court.

“It’s time to get the Senate working again — not for the good of the current Democratic majority or some future Republican majority, but for the good of the country,” said Mr. Reid, who in the past had been reluctant to force through a rules change. “It is time to change the Senate, before this institution becomes obsolete.”

Skip

The change does not extend to legislation, which lawmakers can still resist and require supporters to gather 60 votes to pass. But given the new willingness to alter the rules, senators in the future could conceivably reach that point.

Inside the Senate, furious Republicans who portrayed the Democratic action as a blatant power grab will no doubt try to exact revenge by further slowing the chamber’s activities and making life as complicated as possible for Democrats. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader and an expert student of Senate rules, made it clear that Democrats would rue this day.

Skip

Many Democrats had been very hesitant to act, fearing that the move would boomerang when Republicans won back control of the Senate and the White House. But they say the level of obstruction had gone too far, including the unsuccessful filibuster of the nomination of Chuck Hagel, a former Republican senator from Nebraska, as defense secretary.

“The Senate now enters the 21st century,” said Senator Tom Harkin, Democrat of Iowa. “This is a good day for the Senate.”

Both parties had moved to the brink of rules changes over judicial nominations for the past eight years, but always stepped back out of fear of threatening the nature of the Senate and bringing Congress to a halt. The Democratic action on Thursday will now test whether anxiety about that scenario was warranted. [Full Article]

I for one will sleep better tonight knowing our republic is closer (again) to functioning as it was intended by the founders of our Great Republic.

ObamaCare Will Negatively Affect the President and Democrats In General...

ObamaCare Will Negatively Affect the President and Democrats In General...
by: Les Carpenter

Liberty -vs- Tyranny

The President signature, and flawed legislation, the ACA is unquestionably going to impact the President and the democrats who solidly supported him and his push for the legislation. With the President's credibility, indeed even his honesty in question by many, his task over the remainder of his administration is formidable.

Some, like Nancy Pelosi, the loyal soldier she is have a different opinion...

Washington (CNN) – House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday neither she nor President Barack Obama misled the American people when they said, during the run-up to the passage of Obamacare, that people could keep their health insurance plans.

Pelosi clarified their remarks, saying they only meant people could keep their plans if they had already signed up before Obama signed the bill in 2010.

But there is this...

He said it over and over again.

Like this time:

“So let me begin be saying this to you and to the American people: I know that there are millions of Americans who are content with their health care coverage. They like their plan and, most importantly, they value their relationship with their doctor. …And that means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like you healthcare plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away from you, no matter what.” … President Obama at the annual conference of the American Medical Association, June 15, 2009.

Of course there was this which the President failed to mention...

The catch was the Administration knew that many of these policies would be changed by the insurance carriers. In 2010 HHS estimated that 40% to 67% of individual plans would lose their grandfather status.

And yet, despite this estimate Obama kept repeating his mantra that if you liked your plan, you can keep it, leading many, including the Washington Post Fact Checker to conclude that, at best, the president was being disingenuous, and, at worst, deceitful.

Keep standing tall Nancy, you'll do your party proud.

Now, while this is not an impeachable offense anyone in their right mind must find themselves questioning the President and his credibility after finding out about this little oversight. One that as much as I'd like to believe otherwise certainly seems to have been planned and therefor intentional.

Bob Woodward I think hit the nail pretty squarely on its head.

POLITICO - “What this is, it’s a mess, clearly, but what it isn’t, and I think you have to look at the question of motive. And the president’s motive here, even though there were deep problems with the implementation, he wants to do something good for 30 million people and get them health insurance,” Woodward said on “Fox News Sunday.” “So this isn’t Watergate, this isn’t [Bill] Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.”

Asked by Fox host Chris Wallace if the Obamacare implementation revealed “rank incompetence,” Woodward agreed.

“There’s no question about that,” he said. “But you see all of these stories and this frenzy out there, the game over, the presidency is over some people are saying, and I think that’s not the case.”

“When you go down the road, it’s going to get worse,” he said. “It’s going to blow a hole in the budget when you go two or three months from now… All of a sudden this is going to come on the table and people are going to say, ‘My God it’s going to cost much more money than we thought before. How you disentangle this is now on Obama’s head.”

The only question really is just how much Pelosi and her fellow democrats will attempt to spin a bad credibility situation situation into a positive. There certainly is going to be those who no matter what will believe whatever they are fed by their party.
