Miami Beach, Florida - On Thursday, Justin Drew Bieber, 19, of Calabasas, California was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license (6 months) and resisting arrested without violence. A Miami-Dade judge set a $1,000 bond each for DUI and resisting arrest and $500 for driving with an expired license. Bieber is facing up to six years in jail, if convicted on all counts.
If convicted on all charges, Bieber a Canadian national could very well get his legal U.S. residency (work visa 0-1) revoked under federal immigration law, which states that if a legal resident gets convicted and sentenced up to a year in jail or even gets a one year suspended sentence, it will automatically begin the process of revoking their residency. Thousands of Mexican, South and Central American nationals have been deported under this law.
Bieber was taken into custody at around 4:00 a.m. in the 300 block of 41st Street after failing a sobriety test at the scene and not following police instructions to place his hands on the vehicle for a pad down to see, if he had any weapons or drugs. Bieber kept his hands on his pant pockets and used expletives at Officer Cosner.
Officer Cosner placed Bieber under arrest for refusing to get searched. It took Officers Cosner, Molina and Socarras to subdue Bieber and to handcuff him. Bieber had an expired Georgia driver's license.
Officer Cosner in a police report said, that he noticed a strong smell of alcohol on Bieber and notice he had blood shot eyes when he stopped Bieber.
After being arrested, Bieber admitted to police that he had dranked alcohol, took some prescription medication and had smoked marijuana.
Bieber and a friend, Khalil Amir Sharieff, 19, of Calabasas, California, who was also charged with DUI were noticed by Police Officer Cosner drag racing in a residential 30 mile per hour zone. Bieber was driving a yellow Lamborghini and Sharieff a red Ferrari. They were both speeding at about 55-60 miles an hour,  according to the police report by Officer Medina.
Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez during a press conference said, that Bieber failed a sobriety test, admitted to consuming alcohol,  medication, smoking marijuana and he resisted arrested without violence.
