Ex-First Responders NYPD and FDNY busted in massive multi-million dollar Social Security scam

So many of these police and firefighters involved in this sad affair points to where we are as a society.
Social rot is entrenched in America.  Basic morals of decency and integrity are out the window.  These bums did what they did because they had a convoluted idea that is was the  right thing to do.  It wasn’t!

NY Daily News reports former Long Island prosecutor and FBI agent Raymond Lavallee, Detectives Endowment Association pension consultant John Minerva, along with two others, turned themselves in to face charges of first-degree grand larceny, and up to 25 years in prison for their roles in a Social Security scam to help city cops and firefighters receive benefits for millions of dollars in fraudulent claims.

The top four defendants in a probe of massive Social Security rip-offs by city cops and firefighters faking stress-related woes surrendered Tuesday morning.
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office expected about 100 arrests in the investigation, with arraignments due to begin on the sprawling indictment later Tuesday afternoon.
The total amount involved in the scam runs into the tens of millions of dollars, authorities said.

Some of the former NYPD and FDNY members targeted by investigators are receiving 9/11 benefits for stress-related ailments, the Daily News reported last week.
Among those turning themselves in were former Long Island prosecutor and FBI agent Raymond Lavallee, 83, and John Minerva, a pension consultant for the Detectives Endowment Association.
