Hermosillo, Sonora - Mexican Federal Police seized 22.07 tons (20,030 kilos) of marijuana and 30.548 kilos of synthetic crystal from a semitrailer along the highway from Mexico and Nogales near Hermosillo and Los Pocitos exit, the National Security Commission reported on Wednesday. Police removed 2,000 packages of marijuana and crystal from the semitrailer.
The driver, Francisco Gaxiola Gurrola, 30, was taken into custody. Police say, the drug shipment was headed to Tijuana for distribution and to be smuggled into the U.S.
