I like Ted Nugent but he went too far. There’s plenty to criticize Obama on without resorting to that type of language.
Ted Nugent's derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.
— Senator Rand Paul (@SenRandPaul) February 21, 2014
Washington Post reports Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday denounced conservative musician Ted Nugent for calling President Obama a "subhuman mongrel."
Paul said in a tweet that Nugent's rhetoric is out of bounds.
Paul's decision to denounce Nugent comes after Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) pointedly declined to do the same and then later shifted course -- somewhat.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Perry said Thursday mornin
g that, "Anybody that’s offended – sorry, but that’s just Ted." By Thursday afternoon, he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that he's "got a problem" with the words Nugent used.
Nugent has been campaigning with the Republican seeking to replace Perry, state Attorney General Greg Abbott (R).
