Mingo County teacher Frederick Huffman at Gilbert Elementary School arrested in Summers on drug dealing charges

I bet this arrest will lead to calls from the teachers union to decriminalize Marijuana.  It’s become a trend with progressives, an idea will lead to more problems than they realize.

The Register Herald reports a Mingo County elementary school teacher was arrested Saturday in Summers County on several drug-related charges, Summers County Sheriff Garry Wheeler said Monday.

Frederick Huffman, 64, a teacher at Gilbert Elementary School, was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a felony.

Summers Chief Deputy J.K. Farmer was driving along W.Va. 20 around 3:10 p.m. when Huffman allegedly drove down W.Va. 3 from Beech Run Road and ran a stop sign, nearly crashing into Farmer’s patrol car, Wheeler said.

Farmer had Huffman pull over at the “first wide spot in the road headed toward Hinton” and walked to Huffman’s vehicle to investigate, said Wheeler.

“He was getting his information, and he could smell a real, strong odor of burned marijuana,” said Wheeler. “Marijuana, when it gets trapped in the car and you roll your window down, comes out right at you.”

Farmer searched Huffman and located a small amount of the illegal weed in a jacket pocket, said Wheeler.
When Farmer searched Huffman’s car, however, he discovered several small, plastic containers of marijuana, marijuana pipes and other paraphernalia, said Wheeler.

Because Huffman allegedly had at least 28 grams of marijuana, officers believe he planned to deliver the drug, said Wheeler.
